    My friend,

in a single day, the tables have been turned. This is yesterday’s news, another one of Democrat stunts. The hearings will wind down soon and the Democrats will move on to invent another Trump’s crime to investigate.

I know it, you know it. The show must go on, right until Trump wins reelection.

Time to practice to scream :D

i agree Trump kinda did this in a hamfisted way but from my understanding the president and Sec. of State are given pretty large leeway as far as foreign aid. The relevant acts are foreign assistance act of 1961 and arms control act

LOL... they're required to cooperate in OUR corruption investigations, not be told what they need to investigate...

    Exactly.

The POTUS would have no reason to bribe Ukraine if he wanted an investigation into Burisma or the 2016 election.

All he'd have to do is ask by whatever means are in the treaty.

Article 1(3) states that assistance shall be provided

Good, since US citizens are on the board of the foreign company in question, and the 2016 election interference is our corruption investigation as well.

Good....Another question. We established that the POTUS sets the foreign policy. What if some unelected officials try to conduct their own foreign policy so to speak, should they be prosecuted for their misconduct?

Case by case, but I wouldn't disagree with that on its face..

I assume you aren't talking about Rudy here, but it sure could be.. and Rudy is under criminal investigation...

Why... the swamp, of course. They’ been making foreign policy for so long, rarely consulting with the President, it has come as a real shock that Trump intends on making foreign policy himself! :D

No you self-servingly projected a motive which has no basis and your last sentence makes no sense. The President has a fiduciary responsibility to protect taxpayer dollars and as Kent testified Ukraine was at the top of the list for government corruption and Trump had been warned about it. Kudos to him for insuring our money would not fall into corrupt hands in a corrupt government.

In a significant revision to his testimony nearly three weeks ago before House impeachment investigators, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, now says he told a Ukrainian official that security assistance to the country would be likely to resume only if the authorities in Kyiv opened investigations requested by President Trump that could be damaging to former vice president Joe Biden.

In a “supplemental declaration” provided to the House impeachment inquiry Monday, Sondland wrote, “I now recall speaking individually” with a Ukrainian official and in that conversation saying “that resumption of U.S. aid would likely not occur until Ukraine provided the public anti-corruption statement that we had been discussing for weeks."

And do you not concede that an investigation into Burisma "could be damaging to former VP Joe Biden"?

I'm sure that's where Trumpie was heading, even if you don't claim that...

Why should Biden be immune from the consequences of his actions?

That's not the point of my post... True or False, is it possible an announcement of an investigation into Burisma "could be damaging to former VP Joe Biden"...
