Although I don't believe in the supernatural, I do go with my wife to a non-denominational church weekly and I am always armed. My wife who is far more involved with the church than I am, believes that this church has an armed security team -- but of course this is not something made public. My wife also goes to another mainstream denomination church (I do not) where the preacher has instructed people not to bring guns to church but I know at least one person who attends armed. A church is probably not a good target for a terrorist attack where I live.

 

Assuming from your post you do have a religious faith what morals do you believe you hold that are unique and indicative of that faith that I as a person who does not have faith in supernatural beings does not?

It's a Catch 22 situation. There is no "win" here.

 

So a man that saves countless lives because he was responsibly carrying and shot the active shooter is not in any way a "win"?

He's a hero. He's already got Gofundme's from Veteran organizations, LEO communities...etc.

Yea, it's a win that someone was there to stop the active shooter. I'm sure the families of those that survived are very happy that he was there to help them. That's a win in a way.

Once again- your side wishes that there wasn't a good guy with a gun to stop the active shooter. That is a major loss for you.

 

And yet, you're happy to do just that every time someone shoots up a school full of kids.
You see them less and victims and more as opportunities.

No. I wish (you seem to think I am some sort of collective) that the bad guy with the gun hadn't been able to get the gun. I am not sorry that armed people stopped him. But it was not a win - two innocent people died. Only time there is a "win" is when no innocent people die.

 

There are some exceptions for collectors, but I don't know of any such legally owned guns used to commit a violent crime.

Because laws cannot prevent people determined to break the law from breaking the law.
The unnecessary and ineffective restrictions you seek to lay on the law abiding will do nothing to change this.

 

There are specific laws preventing that specific guy from getting that specific gun, and they all failed like we told you they would. Now you will pretend that you don't know why those laws didn't work, so I'll tell you now.

No buddy, you too can own these very weapons. Provided you do belong to a group that is prevented from owning firearms, like a felon, or insane.

 

No one is saying that the innocent people dying is a win. Your party and your side keeps shifting that goal post. The win is that the armed citizen heroically killed the active shooter before he could kill many more. Would you say the families of those that lived would say that's a win or a loss?

I know you guys wish the good guy with the gun wasn't there to save countless more lives. However, you lost. He was there, and he saved many lives.
