They have the same right to life in states that put limitations on abortion (vast majority of states pre-Dobbs).

This lacks logic and forethought. Most states have limitations on abortion already, just as most states have fetal homicide laws. The difference is simply when rights kick in.

 

It's extremely rare for abortion to be necessary to save a woman's life and when it is necessary a delivery is still typically necessary. Most states have clauses about incest, rape, and to save the mother's life. That's also an area that could be decided by future cases.

 

You don't get to kill someone for inconveniencing you. That's not self defense.

 

And in those rare cases the woman is just SOL right?

Not all states have limitations. MD has none whatsoever and this is by amendment to our State Constitution done in 1992.

 

Why should the states have that power?

 

Pregnancy and child birth is physically injurious. That's not a mere inconvenience. And it's a contradiction to say that we are under no legal obligation to donate an organ to our offspring on the one hand but we are legally obligated to remain pregnant for the sake of the unborn on the other. That's creating a special right for fetuses that no born person enjoys.

 

They may not have that power. No state does so currently and it may not be legal if they tried. It's just a propaganda talking point that the far left likes to spread.

 

Sure its injurious, that is why women who have children live 3-5 years longer than women that don't (according to the peer reviewed science). Kind of weird how those humans who do what they were biologically programmed to do live longer and more fulfilled lives. It is a real mystery. Even more mysterious is that anybody still believes the propaganda that women need to be cubicle dwellers and compete against men for them to have a meaningful life.

Then why did you mention the "cases" where it happens, when it hasn't happened, and is outlawed in all 50 states?

Yup, a fetus harms the woman it's in so she should have the same right everyone else has, the right to self defense...the right to kill in self defense....but some people want to take away that right from women so they can do anything they want to them...just like destroying women's right to their own bodies...that means one can do anything to women because they have no rights....what weak men need

 

Because I think more than one State has no exceptions for rape and incest already. The mindset that passes that kind of law is clear. Women deserve DEATH for having sex, even if it's not their fault. The people that support this kind of thinking are straight out of the Handmaid's Tale and that's what this Court allied with the Republicans is trying to bring about.

People listen up. Republicans still have NO plan to end inflation but they want to use it to seize power in November nonetheless. We've seen what they want to do and they're well on their way to doing it. The ONLY way we have to stop that at this point is to go to polls in November and make Republican a synonym for loser.

Or we can get ready to give our Senators big funny hats and Bishop's Mitres, when they take up their hereditary posts. Your choice.
