I do know what I am talking about...I've been in those processing plants...I worked in one while in undergrad.

 

Under what law? the law now for 1st offenses is under $10,000 per employee unless you have more than 10, then the fines include jail time and serious money. But for every illegal who loses his job they might be a dependent that will also be forced to leave the country. But on the bright side illegal aliens work for unscrupulous people who hire them knowing that they are illegal they then undercut prices charged by responsible law abiding vendors who hire and abide by osha and wage laws. They pay them "under the table" so they violate Social Security and other workplace laws, under those laws they can be hammered.

All you have to do is fine 3 or 4 businesses in 3 or 4 different industries in a month for a couple of months. The illegal business will be shut down, fear will spread to the other abusers and they will let go of workers who don't have the required documentation. Legal immigrants or working poor will then have more jobs available for them and honest businesses won't have to compete with companies that don't play fair.

you try to take a point that manning a border wall with armed people, to enforce border security should not be done because some parent is going to let their 10 year old carry a 40 foot extension ladder. That type of parent/person is exactly the type of person that I don't want as a neighbor. Heah lets use our kids as shields!

A lot of big employers get around it by hiring temp workers from a labor agency. The agency says that they are all legal, and that removes the corporation from responsibility. They say they acted in good faith, and they have a signature on a contract saying they they are legal.

You got a plant that processes chicken, say 500 employees. 400 of which are legal workers, 100 of which are temp types doing the dirtiest and most dangerous jobs in the plant, now instead of paying a premium for this dirty and dangerous work, the company pays min wage to the temp agency who hires illegals. The temp company gets his license easy as pie, no city person wants to risk the plant not being profitable for the 400 regular citizens that work there, so they turn a blind eye.

 

Why it is a campaign, what are the progressives going to say? The kid climbed a ladder and they pushed the ladder down. Maybe a better thing to do I have blue flashing lights in the desert with cases of water so that they won't die that way if you are so concerned. Maybe the dems can run on that.

I would love to see people who are fine with the status quo go into a poor neighborhood in 2 years when the economy slows and tell those residents that the jobs that are availible are going to be filled by some illegal alien because they need it more.

Definitely from my perspective. I don't understand having laws and not enforcing them.

 

Many above do not understand the staffing of processing plants, and until we have some solid evidence that the temp agencies are at fault (which they may be in a small way) we can't accept they are.

What do need is to punish everyone and every company that actively evades the hiring law to employ illegals.

 

No one wants to shoot kids or their parents, c'mon this is a discussion board and maybe you take things too seriously you think? But you know that they get shot now right? Why do they take that chance because there is nothing physically there to stop them, they just have to get over the mental hurdle that they may get lost in the desert.

No one thinks that the wall by itself will stop illegal immigration. They can still come here to visit and just stay. That is why everybody that hires one needs to be punished severely. I have sympathy for someone trying for a better life.
But we have a process that has worked for every wave of immigration before this one. It is tougher now as society now places a greater emphasis on government help vs family, friends and church as it was in the past. 10,000 Irish come and no jobs, they starved and died or were a burden to relatives. Now they get $1500 a month and food stamps and section 8 housing. There is only so much money to go around and I want to see it spent on citizens of this country.

 

If you want to have border patrol have shoot to kill orders just say that. Stop running from.it

 

We need a national ID card for every adult. Everyone gets one and every citizen that gets one is registered to vote.
This stops the dems for rightfully stating that the repubs are trying to impede the poor and elderly from voting. It gives the conservatives an easy way to deport. a Win-win to me.

 

I want a border patrol to shoot if the person refuse to stop. Two guns one with rubber bullets then the other with live rounds. they do not stop, they are considered drug runners. I am not running from it at all. Just pointing out that the kid stuff was not serious. And you don't have to kill them either, shooting them in the leg and driving them to the next checkpoint works for me.

 

Good. Any shooting with live fire is a deadly force incident. No cop in the country is trained to shoot in the leg. Just be honest about that. Let people know you will be using lethal force on the border.

every cop is trained how to shoot. You can aim for the leg, you might miss and hit him in the chest. I am perfectly honest with that. Criminals fleeing the scene after being told to stop and a warning shot fired take it upon themselves and not the cop/border agent/ soldier. Don't put responsibility on the law enforcer, put it on the law breaker. My presidential candidate that I voted for was Clinton. I disagreed with her strongly on her trade, Iran and immigration views which I thought was polar opposite of mine as a lifelong democrat from McGovern to Oboma. But on most of her other she was inline more with my beliefs than Trump, That and trump being trump had me pulling the lever for her.

 

Factually incorrect. Every cop in the country is trained that shooting constitutes deadly force and you are to shoot center body mass until the suspect stops being dangerous.

Just be honest about it

 

Anyone who wants 'shoot to kill' orders for anyone coming across the border needs to go to Iran now.
