The CARES Act is simply pork barrel spending on a massive scale.

That's why Operation Covid is not about public health at all, it is about plundering the US Treasury.

Oh, let's see...Nazi Pelosi, Chuck You Schumer, Joe Biden himself, AOC and the rest of the squad. Nazi Pelosi thinks she's the queen and AOC is so stupid she doesn't know how stupid she is. And you think Trump is a loser?

Biden is 10-0 in general elections. He will retire undefeated in 2025.

Trump is a loser, and he doesn't even know it. Obvious dementia.

I'm particularly loving this tweet from Wicker of Mississippi - one who voted against the bill but is only too happy to talk about how much he's done for his people.

Trump doesn't zone out in the middle of a thought. Biden doesn't know what he's going to say until somebody tells him.. You're a Kool Aid drinker who doesn't pay attention.

Correct. I don't pay attention to RW nonsense.

    Biden: 10-0
Trump: 1-1, twice impeached, 0-2 popular vote, $1b in personal debt, criminal and civil legal issues, wears orange makeup.

    Here's some good fun:

Are these signs of desperation from the GOP? Do they think their constituents are stupid? How can anyone praise a bill they just voted against and expect to get away with it?

    To answer your questions:
    1. Yes
    2. Absolutely
    3. See your question two

It should be a cake walk for Dems in 2022, but because the Republican candidates will not be challenged on their vote, their lemming followers will just enjoy the fruits of this bill and vote for 'their' candidate.

Yeah, I don't get it. Logically, it would seem Republican voters like what the Democrats did with this bill, but will vote against them anyway. Doesn't make any sense. It appears the Republican party is now exclusively a culture war party. They have no ideas on the economy, they reject science and technology, they vote against bills then tell their base how good the bill is.

You're right, 2022 should be a cake walk. If Democrats hold true to form, they will find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I'm more optimistic about the party than I've been in the past. I don't like Schumer personally, but results are what matter. Biden was wise to praise him publically. If the Democrats can hold themselves together, which is no small task, I think they will gain in '22. One thing is certain, the GOP strategy is going nowhere. The base is small and shrinking. I'm hoping infrastructure is the next proposal. Let's see Republicans vote against jobs.

The fox news watching public certainly will - because they won't be informed about what the bills are. I've started tuning in to Fox for a few minutes each night (Tucker and Hannity) just to see what level of information they are providing on what's going on. And it would seem that they are all too concerned with Potato Head, Dr. Seuss and Joe's dementia to even talk about what this bill will mean for the American public.

Great point. I have said this many times before, but have never gotten a real answer from the "tax cutter" crowd:

If you are REALLY fiscally conservative, you'd cut spending first, and then cut taxes. However, the GOP modus operandi is the other way around, the ALWAYS cut taxes first. They then pretend that they will cut spending, but don't and turn around and blame the Dems for it.

Now when I ask why this sequence always repeats, I am greeted with silence. Therefore, I am not asking again, but give the answer right away:

If government spending were cut first, let's say by 10%, we can calculate the hit on the GDP growth. Since federal spending is about 20% of GDP, a cut of 10% would mean that GDP would contract by 2%. Now, let's say GDP growth would be 2% that year, after the spending cut it would be 0%. Which politician likes to run on the record of 0% GDP growth? None. That's why cutting spending first never happens.

I included the cons. Amtrack is still sitting on a pile of Covid cash. Preserving language, or any data for that matter does not require money in the information age. Someone has a friend that connected them to tax money. Its called corruption.

Do you really need me to explain why a bridge to Canada has nothing to do with helping people through a pandemic?

Also, putting it on me to justify keeping the money I worked hard for, is why politicians get away with this abusive, overreaching theft. It should be on them to justify taking it from those who worked for it.

Many people on the take did not suffer losses during Covid. Many actually had no losses and many worked extra hours and made more. How can you justify taking their money, moving it through the circuitous bureaucracy, through the many hands with sticky fingers, and giving them back what is left? Why not just reduce their taxes?

What's up with repubs opposing the stimulus bill?

A vast share of the money approved by Congress will benefit the lowest-income Americans, including tax credits and direct checks, of which nearly half will be delivered to people who are unemployed, below the poverty line or barely making enough to feed and shelter their families. Billions of dollars will be used to extend benefits for the unemployed. Child tax credits will largely benefit the poorest Americans.

I haven't watched Fox in months. I read their articles all the time, but I can only take so much being screamed at. I accidentally watched a Pirro clip and can't go back for awhile.

The criticism by Repubs of the focus on the poor and middle class as opposed to the rich is usually characterized as "free cheese" to buy votes. It's curious that myopic view never considers the laser focus on benefiting the very wealthy by Repub actions.

“Most of the tax cut went to businesses and higher income individuals who are less likely to spend the increases,” reads the report.

That exacerbates income inequality in the country, according to the Tax Policy Center, and as the wealthiest families see their incomes rise more than middle- or lower-income Americans, they are able to save more. In fact, while the wealthiest 20% of families in the U.S. saw their post-tax income increase by 2.9% on average after the cuts, middle-income earners saw just a 1.6% increase, per TPC.

I had never watched Fox up until a couple of years ago. It was a shocking experience, for sure! Now, its just 15 minutes or so - the end of Tucker and the start of Hannity, and I'm shocked at the subjects covered. (Or not covered, as the case may be...)

Obama: most useless president since Jim's Carter. Told us jobs were not coming back. Created a crisis at the border and an economy that was so lame he had to call it the new normal.

Trump: Created the greatest economy since WWII. Lowest unemployment for blacks, hispanics, and white people. Put more money into the pockets of Americans than the last five combined. Southern border stabilized.

Biden: Screwed everything up in two months.

If you have to pawn off opposing views as ignorant as your come out debate, your argument is weak.

I post facts, you call me indoctrinated. By facts. Indoctrinated by facts? OK, I'll take it.

Now, do you have a valid point, or cheap attacks? Let's see.

    https://allthatsinteresting.com/chinese-ghost-cities

Comparing the US to Chinese economies is a non-starter. China is still a communist country, heavily manipulated from a market perspective. While large swaths of China are completely impoverished, their government builds ghost cities to keep their people busy while no demand necessitates construction.

If building ghost cities with tax dollars is your version of "success" in economic terms, then I am not sure what to say. That is the true indoctrination.

China manipulates currency, invests it's government in every capitalistic ventures, and has one of the largest economic bubbles the world has ever seen in an effort to play a massive game of "keeping up with the Jones" and you see that as success.

This is a "win" from your perspective:

I also note that you called my facts related to tax revenue and spending as "indoctrination" and then you said absolutely nothing to counter that.

There is a massive disconnect in your argument.

You can't put people to work that don't want to work.

Government is your Deity. There are some things no government and no amount of spending can fix.

Anytime we do cut spending (WHO, Paris Climate Accord, etc.) the Dumbocrats scream bloody murder and try to stop it, then we have to cut taxes to ease the burden on the taxpayers.
