Buddhism, Hinduism and Christianity have got zilch in common!
For example Buddha says nobody can save us except ourselves, yet Jesus said only he himself can save people, and Hinduism's caste system looks down on the low-born, whereas Christianity doesn't..:)

    1- "Stick with me, chum"
2- "Thanks JC, you're my main man"
3- "Hey mate, why do you hang around with commoners like him?"
4- "On yer bikes you numbnuts!"

And you have proof of what you claim? Ticket stubs perhaps? Or merely passed down by the PR representatives of the time?

BTW, I don't believe that your bible is a true statement as it has been revised countless times over the years to the point that no on knows what it may have originally stated.

Most likely you're playing dumb to evade the point; but just on the off chance, a professing Christian is anyone who professes to be a follower of Christ.

    No it isn't...

...as this verse plainly affirms. But getting back to the point: how in Hell does it make any sense to follow a guy who claims to be the Son of God, yet profess doubt as to whether that God exists?

No one with a lick of sense would even think of taking a step down this road.

Using scorn and condescension is not really a good way to make people respect christian.

"Jesus" didn't even exist before 1630 A.D. so who would you have liked before that?

I get to GOD due to a kind of reverse engineering. I start with what we know. We know very well there is the universe. Maybe more, but we know of at least one.
    We know what ours contains.

Common sense says you do not produce stars and planets and much more out of pure nothing. To move from nothing to a vast amount of something has to need GOD.

Does this hint GOD is worried about our laws or morals? Gee, the universe provides no answers. Could GOD care? Many things are possible.

Atheists are at a loss to explain the creation of all matter. GOD solves that quite nicely.

Don't get me wrong. Just because I don't totally discount a supreme being, doesn't mean I believe in the Bible.

    Isaiah:

8“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways,”

    declares the Lord.

9“As the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts.

The problem then seems to be that it is unfathomable.

OK....just you know unlike a lot of people who like to pretend they are something they are not on the internet I am not one of them and the thing is my extensive education and training will probably make you think I might be one of those pretenders.

I am not and there are a few people here who know this.

I was an ASSISTANT not Associate Professor at MIT where I developed the Multiversal Model as the Many Worlds Model was far too limited to account for aspects of Quantum Mechanics as well as it could not account for what we call the effects of Dark Matter and Dark Energy.

Now I want you to REALLY think about what I am about to say to you as I am not into making people look uneducated or seem less than anyone else as I believe that every person has at least ONE THING that they and they alone are the very best at doing.

Here is the thing....you mistakenly assume that NON-EXISTENCE IS POSSIBLE....IT IS NOT!!!!

I could go into the math but it would be useless unless you understood it.

Our Universal Reality is but ONE of an INFINITE NUMBER OF DIVERGENT UNIVERSAL STATES OF REALITY and this is called a Universal Baseline Reality Grouping as within a Grouping all universal realities HAVE THE SAME NATURAL PHYSICAL LAWS.

THAT was what the Many Worlds Model described but we realized IT WAS FAR TOO LIMITED.

    Why?

Because because Non-Existence is Mathematically Impossible and because NEVER in the history of humanity has the math said something must exist and then NEVER has this ever been proven wrong......it means we exist within just ONE Divergent Universal Reality that is one of an infinite number of other alternate universal realities all having the same natural physical laws......BUT......THAT IS NOT AN INFINITE SYSTEM!!!!

Thus to describe an infinite system I came up with the Multiversal Model where there are INFINITE NUMBERS OF BASELINE UNIVERSAL REALITY GROUPINGS as each Baseline Grouping each containing an infinite number of their own alternate divergent universal states of reality well EACH BASELINE GROUPING HAS IT'S OWN ALTERNATE UNIVERSAL NATURAL PHYSICAL LAWS different that those laws that exist in all the infinite universes contained within OUR UNIVERSAL BASELINE GROUPING.

Now if you want to discuss this further I will be happy to if I have the time but please understand who and what you are talking to.

1- But why on earth would the early Christians sit down to invent Jesus? What was in it for them?
2- In one breath atheists say the Bible has been repeatedly edited over the centuries to make it look good, then in their next breath they say it's full of contradictions. Wish they'd make up their minds..;)

So what? Many atheists (such as Dawkins) do the same but in reverse! They say "I'm an atheist but I admit there's a possibility I might be wrong and that God really exists"..:)

Scientists estimate there are thousands of alien civilisations out there, so I'd say the odds are pretty good that earth has been visited by at least one of them.
Remember, Jesus said straight out he was an alien with awesome powers..:)

I'd have liked any rebel who spoke out against the spiritually corrupt priestly Establishment of the time..:)
Jesus wants friends AND rebels, for example his young cousin John the baptist was a rebel living rough in the middle of nowhere eating wild food and dressed in near-rags, sometimes going in town to yell insults at the snooty priests and corrupt rulers. Jesus's verdict on him? -
"John is the greatest man ever to be born" (Matt 11:11)

Thankfully there have always been rebels right up to the present day..:)

Yes, here's another question I'd like to throw into the PF playpen-
This is a typical atom, so which of the following possibilities is the most likely-
1- It suddenly blinked into existence in empty space on its own initiative.
2- It's always existed and therefore had no beginning.
3- A 'God' or 'Alien' created it.
    4- It's an illusion and doesn't exist.
5- Have I missed out any other possible explanations?

One way to see GOD is to see GOD as the alien.

Why would the early Christians invent a Jesus character? To gain power and control people. Same reasons in use today for making false claims.

As for making up the minds of Atheists, no contradiction at all. It has been edited, just look at past versions, including the King James version and all those prior to it. Additionally it is full of contradictions, just try to follow the story some time.

I really wish some theist out there would put forth what he claims is the final version of the story so that there would only be one to debunk.

And your evidence for this extraordinary claim?
Btw, had the Hindu or Buddhist writings claimed they were gods, would that make you believe them?

I would think that just claiming to be a Deist makes you a 10 on the Deist scale. If you are not sure and claim 5, that makes you agnostic. Being a Deist(10) does not mean you are sure, it simply means you believe.
