In Latin it would have been called IESUS.

Pontius Pilate invented that name for his plaque for the cross.

Julius Caesars name would have been IULIUS CAESAR.

Well in the world of Philosophy if you concur in Deism by Aquinas, then merely agreeing with Aquinas is a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10.

That's why -- in terms of a serious answer.

On the other hand Bertrand Russell told the world he is Atheist but confessed privately that he is really an Agnostic -- based on his own experience it is not possible to know either way -- and he dismisses Aquinas out of hand (means no matter how strong Aquinas' philosophy is Russell still won't by it).

    So Russell is a -0- on a scale of 1 to 10.

A 5 would be some who says they are not sure -- maybe they think Aquinas is wrong ?!

What makes either Aquinas or Russell an authority on Deism? If they are not an authority on Deism then why should I be swayed by their narrative or conclusions?

From my POV all who believe in God are a 5 as there is no way to prove for a fact that any chosen God exists as belief and faith are not synonymous with fact.

yiosthoey is merely projecting his own theology and uses others (here, Aquinas and Russell) as props to obscure his somewhat rehearsed proselytizing.

I'm a 10. It does one no good to be double minded." A double minded man is unstable in all his ways, like a rudderless shipped tossed about in the sea".

God exists in a totally different form of universe. Man has this universe. God has many such universes.

The only difference between the Buddha and Christ is the Buddha became enlightened, discovered the kingdom of heaven which is within consciousness while the Christ was born enlightened. Enlightenment has nothing to do with thinking, quite the contrary. It is a state of consciousness apart from thought, and has nothing to do with thought, and thinking. Christ taught to take no thought for tomorrow, as he taught that man cannot add anything to himself by taking thought.

So given this there was no guesses or hunches involved with the Buddha. Your hunches and guesses were far off base.

If Buddha discovered enlightenment, which Christ called the kingdom of heaven, then when Buddha spoke of this, he was giving the words of god, who lives in that kingdom of heaven. Christ would have called Buddha a son of god. Any person who discovers the kingdom within becomes a son of god. For his consciousness enters into the kingdom which Christ said is within. But you cannot think yourself there. In fact whosoever would save his soul will lose it. But there is still a difference between a body, a mind, born enlightened, and a body, a mind which discovers it. This is what makes Christ different from another person who dwells in the kingdom of god, but was not always, from birth, there.

My only proselytation is that others learn Philosophy so that they can free their minds from the brainwashing of their organized Theistic groups.

Once you learn and start to practice Philosophy then nobody can lie to you again.

Where you go from there is up to you because then you will be a free man (or woman).

Well Russell is a classic closet Agnostic who calls himself an Atheist to look and sound more controversial.

Aquinas is a revered Catholic philosopher and everyone in the Catholic Church who becomes a Priest or Philosophy Ph.D. learns his teachings.

Not sure what else I can tell you.

Mate, take Paul's advice and think simple..:)-
Paul said - "I'm worried lest you be led astray from the simplicity of Christ" (2 Cor 11:3)
    Jesus is easy to understand-
"And the common people heard him gladly" (Mark 12:37)
Are you a JW or Mormon or other cultist by any chance? They think only they and nobody else can understand the "hidden secrets" of the Bible and that we ordinary slobs know jack..:)

Jesus had a huge fan base-
"Large crowds from Galilee, the Ten Cities, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him" (Matt 4:25),
do you think they were all hallucinating?
Heck, Jesus was almost as big as Elvis, right Elv?
    "Uh-huh"..

Christians also know how to roll with the punches life throws at us, they know our life on this earth shouldn't be taken seriously, that's why they're cool, calm, fearless and goodnatured..:)
"We look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal" (2 Cor 4:18 )

What the heck's a "professing Christian"?
I'm just an ordinary guy who doesn't go to church, and I haven't been baptised or any of that razzmatazz, I simply like Jesus, that's all he wants from any of us..:)

The odds certainly suggest it, because scientists acknowledge there are possibly thousands of advanced alien races in the universe, and Jesus said straight out he was an alien with awesome powers-
"I know where I came from and where I am going, but you have no idea where I come from or where I am going....you are of this world, I am not of this world...though you do not believe me, believe the miracles" (John 8:14/ 8:23/10:38/Matt 13:35)
Maybe we should send out a probe to locate his source of origin?-

    STARGATE-THE MOVIE
[The probe moves up the ramp through the Stargate.]
SHORE -"The thing has locked itself onto a point somewhere in the Kaliam galaxy"
DANIEL- "Where are we on that map?"
CATHERINE- "That's right, Jackson. It's on the other side of the known universe"
