I have never looked into that, but if you bought an ar in 2010 with a bullet button, and registered it last year, the bullet button needs to stay installed.

Thanks, it sounds like our situation is similar as our sheriff's office is 15 - 20 miles away via country roads and a "State Correctional Facility" aka "State Farm" is about 12 miles away.
On the other hand, my neighbors & I target shoot and I have my own target range next to my blacksmith shop behind our home so we rarely have any violent crime.

In reality, we are all on our own until the police show up IF the 911 dispatcher takes the call, gets the information correct & choses to relate it to the LEO who may happen to be in the area.

When you think about it, non gun owners are getting a free ride on the backs of gun owners because criminals are more fearful of being shot by homeowners & are therefore more reluctant to break into any home under the assumption that the home owner is armed.
Have you ever seen a sign on any house that says "This Is A Gun-Free Home" ? ..... I wonder why.
    Thanks again & good luck

I know I have personally paid a lifetime of funds into social security, workers compensation etc....
Now I wish I could have had an option to have paid that money into some private fund or account.

I do often wonder about the word "Entitlements" and how it is freely applied to both social programs that aid the poor such as Welfare and E.B.T. and programs one pays into, like Social Security and Workers Compensation and Pension funds, equating both as being the same and calling both Entitlements.

I once had a heated discussion with a long time freind about a proposed pension for volunteer firefighters and volunteer ambulance personnel that serve the Public trust for at least 20 years, with no salary, and I recommended a method of achieving this goal at zero cost to the public, and he up and down cussed me out about the entitlement mentality etc.... As if I was talking about a Government funded program for parasites and other non productive members of society, finally he agreed, if it was a modest pension, and I pissed him off by asking why not a huge pension as long as the party in question is paying into the pension fund receiving back exactly what they pay into it in Pre-Tax dollars after a period of 20 years, he almost had a heart attack right there.

He really wanted to kill me for recommending such a pension fund should remain Tax Free after 20 years when the pensioner begins to collect on it.

Explain to me the difference between an AR15 and a Ruger mini14. Both are semi-auto rifles primarily in .223 or 5.56 mm. Why is the AR an assault rifle yet the mini14 is not. It's because the left is stuck on identity politics. The AR15 looks like a military rifle of today, be there for it is not for civilians. The mini14 looks like a military rifle from WW2, there for it is not as deadly. "Do not judge a book by it's cover" yet this is what the , 'ban assault rifles crowd' does everyday. They judge on appearance instead of functionality.

That is a blatant form of racism, black rifles matter.

    Really?
In what decision did the SCotUS consider and then uphold an AW ban?
Cite the text in the ruling to that effect.

    Nice collection of fallacies there.

Many things fit your descriptions, rat poison, knives etc..
Then you propose getting rid of traffic signals....
How very strange your talk of killing.

As a child I often carried a small box matches and a candle in my pocket, I suppose you would consider that odd or a problem by your line of thinking or reasoning.

One Summer I travelled to another Country and visited a farm, the servants had all left and the remaining ladies could cook, but had no notion of slaughtering animals, I was very hungry and had seen it done, even thougg I was only ten years old then, I grabbed some nice plump hens and fixed them up, best fried chicken ever that day, later at school we had a what did you do on your summer vacation, and I related that account, and got in trouble when I said, sometimes in order to eat, you must kill something......

So you agree that certain guns are not the problem? Then why try to ban them? I'll say again, there are far to many items that can be used to kill to ban them all.
I often wonder why none of the issues you listed were problems until recently (recently being the last three decades). That is, problems where one is willing to kill a lot of people and die doing so. I believe it is a direct result of the entitlement culture that has arisen. Instead of teaching the upcoming generations how to deal with anger, alienation, rejection, and stress; we teach them that it is not their fault and everyone deserves or is entitled to certain things. So what do that do when they don't get their way?

Republicans Reagan and Bush took away guns.

They hate white guns owners more than anyone else.

Yes. Bolt action, lever action rifles and revolvers are certain guns that are not the problem.

Nobody wants to ban them except for maybe a few fringe folks.

That's why banning bricks and baseball bats is ridiculous.

I believe it is a direct result of the authoritarian intolerance of the right wing culture that has arisen. It's also a direct result of Reagan's defunding of mental health clinics and agencies.

You profile says you are from Sweden. I don't expect you to understand American history and the freedoms we enjoy, or appreciate the people who died to guarantee we have those freedoms. In other words, don't concern yourself with how we do freedom, and I'll not concern myself with how you do socialism.

One of the hallmarks of this country is the right to freedom of expression. Any real American would welcome such observations and comments from overseas. After all, we get plenty on this forum from those who endorse warmongering and other atrocities from Washington, DC.

FIRST: I lived more than 20 years in the US.
SECOND: Consequently, I understand gobs of American history.
THIRD: "People who died" in any war since WW II did not contribute to your freedom, in fact it contributed to the destruction of others and to the ransom of your own young. I should know, I wore an American uniform for 3 years and went overseas to do some of the dirty work.
FOURTH: When you say that you don't concern yourself with the workings of other nations I think you realize that is a load of bull poopy. Lord knows how I'd like to tell you everything I am thinking right now but I'd rather keep it friendly. :date:

They are free to say what they want, and I am free to tell them to mind their own business. It takes an American to appreciate American freedoms and rights. I don't expect them to value our way of life, and I in no way envy theirs. You want to swap recipes? Fine. But leave the big decisions to the people who have to live with them.

Thank you for your service. If America is so bad why stay? And this isn't the typical "get out if you don't like it" nonsense.
You seem to hate the second amendment, and our foreign policy.

Then tell the same to those deluded right wingers on this forum who have posted dozens of threads about their imaginary Swedish "no go zones" which were supposedly invented by Muslims. Then do the same about their threads on their imaginary claims that Sweden has become the rape capitol of humanity thanks to the influx of those same Muslims.

By doing so you will show the world that you do not apply double standards.

The most important point (that often gets obscured behind the smoke screen) is that the subject is "AMERICAN CITIZENS". They are the ones who are getting mowed down in the schools and shopping centres and churches and post offices and road rages and drive-bys. Whatever country I come from is irrelevant to the subject. If it pains me (more than it pains the average American) to see your countrymen being murdered with such frequency then I should be thought of kindly - not like a "know nothing". It's like saying, "We are free to kill as much as we want and it's none of your business because it is part of OUR culture, not YOURS!"

There is a certain irony in the posts made by right winger altmiddle - this forum has HUNDREDS of threads about Americans claiming that they know what is best for Syria, Israel, the Middle East, and the rest of the world. They are constantly telling others how they should run their lives and attempting to "justify" American intervention in those countries supposedly for their good.

Then when someone like you posts observations about the USA, suddenly a right winger says you have no right to say what you did.

    Double standards, much???
