This is a very true statement and in fact it has certain elements of truth though this argument does not answer the question raised here regarding the issue. I agree religion has poisoned our world. But rooting out religions at times is likely to imbalance social harmonies or at times moral realms. Given historical evidences, yes religion has been more culpable forces and today all over the world this is more noticeable than ever before whether it is in the Middle East or in India between the Hindu and Muslim religious communities. But religion has often birthed somebody like Mother Teresa, though her acts have been to promote Christianity she really did something to uplift the downtrodden all over the world. She merits our applause and thanks

We often watch history and happenings from American and Eurasian lens and we know America has been Hegemonic in international politics. There are a few humans, brave, intelligent, sensitive, honest and well informed like Noam Chomsky and the like who narrates the other, untold side of history. Even among the Jews I have read Miko Peled's interview, though I have yet to read his famous book The General’s Son: Journey of an Israeli in Palestine that gives a truer picture of the conflict in the Palestine Land and how in the name of the religion one race of people where totally raided and making them homeless. His book is worth reading that sheds light on what the real issue is.

If they didn't procreate so much Gaza wouldn't be so highly populated. And if the mountains of cash from the EU were to be used for the purpose it's given viz. infrastructure development and decent housing, Gaza would be as pleasant a place to live in as any Israeli town, rather than the rubbish tip that is it now.

I've done enough bits and pieces reading to know why the Pals are pissed off. The situation is not all the different than what the U.S. did to the American Indians except that we overwhelmed the Indians with numbers (it's the opposite in Palestine) and we left the Indians some pretty sizable (and nice) tracts of land and a bit of self determination.

70% of the population of Gaza are refugees from the West Bank and the Negev. They weren't born in Gaza.

Whatever - I meant the present-day population of Gaza. I'd guess the average number of children per family is 4. No '2.4 children' for them!

So your claim is that two wrongs make a right? That's an interesting proposition. It didn't work in the Balkans and doesn't appear to be working for Israel.

Those birth rates will go down with any sort of stability and even minimum prosperity and clean water.. Gaza is basically a concentration camp.. not as severe as Warsaw, but do remember that Hitler accused the Warsaw Jews of being dangerous criminals.

This is your excuse for allowing ethnic cleansing to continue?

What are you doing to stop it everywhere else? And why is it acceptable when the victims aren't muslims?

I see you and your side crying about the palestinian but not about the multitude of other who are in way worst condition than the pals...
Not a peep about the Tibetans, or the sudanese or the kurds or the australian aboriginals or the NZ Maoris...

Actually in the 15 years before Hitler came to power, the population of Palestine doubled with the influx of European Jews.

    - - - Updated - - -

Has the US been funding any of them them since 1948?

The US has been funding just about every *******ned country on earth since 1945... You just don't like that it also includes the jews which you hate. Newsflash, Hitler was wrong about them and so are you.

    So, is your answer:
"Yes, the existence of wrongs in our history or in other parts of the world allows us and others to commit those crimes anywhere it is profitable to do so?"

I'm not putting words in your mouth - I want to know the answer. Is my statement above something YOU would say?

And, your nonsense about these problems in other places not being of concern happens to be false. There is a lot of concern about those places.

However, it is America that is supporting the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.

So, we need to clean up our own criminality before getting more serious about what China or Australia or so many countries in Africa are doing.

Ethnic cleansing is happening TODAY in the place I wrote about. They're in way worst condition than the pals, condition that the pals themselves are responsible for a big part.

So what about you prioritize instead.

Hitler was a monster who took the civil rights, citizenship, property and ultimately the lives of the Jews after demonizing them... Sound familiar?

Israel has been getting 60% of the TOTAL Us Foreign Aid budget since 1948.. What hubris.

There is no Palestine, and there never will be one if the Arabs continue their terrorist ways.

There was no ITALY either until the unification began in 1815. What a lame excuse for a foreign takeover of Palestine.

So it's okay because everyone does it. Geez, you apologists for the Israelis seem to think they can do anything just because someone else does it. My kids used to have that idea too. They found out that their world did not work that way. Wrong was still wrong even if others did it. wrong was still wrong even if people did it for a long time.

I dunno. There is an Israel, even though they use terrorist tactics. There is a US, even though we blow up hospitals and weddings with our drone attacks. Seems to me tactics are irrelevant to whether or not a state should exist. What was the Boston Tea Party if not a terrorist attack? What about Quantrill and others like him during the War Between the States?

The US has used terror throughout its history. We have incited coups and insurgencies all over the world, mostly in support of our big corporations. Look up how the CIA overthrew a popularly elected gov't in Iran in 1953. Look up the history of United Fruit in Central America. How about the US invasion and occupation of Haiti (1915-1934)?

I don't know what 'clean water' and 'stability' has to do with the Gazan birth rate. [IMG] But you sort of exemplify the root of all the problems in the region - they live in the past, and are too dumb to contemplate the future.

Oh, and they're obsessed with bloody religion!

You are right, absolutely right. The US have an interest in international politics, since it has to sell arms and raise billions of dollars. Israel was nonexistent historically. Palestine had occupants 96 % Palestine or Muslims. Zionists who were secretly organizing in Europe occupied a small area, and it was tactfully done at the outset starting with purchase of Palestine land and later on they have started terrorizing the Palestine people who were simple villagers and were somewhat behind in terms of civilization. Though in cities they were influential but in villages they were not well organized and gradually they have started occupying and the UN and the US have together helped them and in 1967 they have expanded their territory occupying some lands of both Egypt and Syria. I do not complete history but this is what I read in the BBC about the Israel Occupants and this is a true story that the innocent Palestinians were left homeless. Their houses were bombarded, plundered, they were looted and tens of thousands of the Palestinians who have lived there for thousands years have been uprooted.
