Why are there so many priests that are pedos?

    Heard on the radio today that yet another priest has been charged with child sex charges dating from the 80's to current... WTF is with the church and paedophilia?

    Because the Catholic Church mandated (Council of Trent I think) that all priests remain celibate, so it could save money by removing its obligation to find sufficient funds for the whole family, as opposed to funding one person ie the priest. Not only,as a consequence, did this foster numerous paedophile priests (we will never know how many), but history is replete with priests, including popes, who fathered a vast number of children!

    Of all the crimes in this world NOTHING is as vile as sex crimes on kids... And priests doing it makes it worse again. Then you hear stories of the priests being moved from place to place by the church even though their crimes are known....thats bloody sick. And people wonder why the church is hated...

    It wouldn't matter if it was 1% or 100%...it is a vile thing and it seems that the catholic church has been a safe haven for them

    While we're throwing loaded questions around here, how about this one. Why are all of these pedophile priests gay? Notice the conspicuous lack of girls being molested. It's all homosexual pedophilia.

    Show me a credible study that show ALL gay men are pedos...


    Better yet tell me why the church has sheltered and enabled these vile creatures to prey on children.

    I believe that homosexuality has always been a part of our species and always will. While it isnt my cup of tea i dont make wild assertions that all of them are pedos.. Some gay people are born that way and some turn to it as a choice. but paedophilia and homosexuality are two different things mate.

    I speak from experience Efjay. you ever been to a REAL church? I attended one christian church here in san diego one Sunday morning. guess what I saw? Tons of homosexual men walking around pretending to be christians..this church sheltering homosexuals...WRONG!!!!!!!!! So freaking wrong!!!!! I never went back to that church. Supposedly, a christian church.

    You should be a lawyer. This is the greatest BS comeback I've ever read. It also flies in the face of the argument that homosexuality isn't a choice.

    This thread is about the church and priests that are pedos..not about your hystericle fear of gay people, and your unsettling ideas of them.
    Yes i have been to a "real" church, i was raised by a catholic family.

    Nope. Gays claim they are born that way. that they are sexually attracted to the same sex and they can't explain it.

    Same goes for people who are sexually attracted to dogs, cats, trees, kids, etc.

    it's simple logic UM, ever take a class?
