And none of them wanted an income tax. They can scarcely be blamed for not having foreseen that at some point on time their country become so week of spirit and soul that they would permit the government to pick a man's pocket for the temerity of having had the gumption to earn an honest living.

Well the new stimulus package is falling apart. I am hearing its because the Democrats want a blank check for Biden possibly to fund projects for Biden. This is because of cares act 1.

The left wants you to think the Republicans are the problem but only some of the Republicans are voting no. Ron Johnson is 1 person.

The parties were fighting over the language of the bill but but that has nothing to do with us. The deal is about to emplode because the greedy Democrats want a blank check.

Screw the Democrats. I'm tired of them. Many people are saying the bill should fall apart now because of the BS and I agree. We are getting empty promises from Congress!!!

... to PEOPLE. While they definitely want it to be very generous to corporations. As it turns out, they have been like this since the 70s. It's not normal or funny, when an existential threat to our country is at stake.

Why is Covid relief bill gridlocked?

Because it is partisan and partisan bills should never become law.

The people who voted for Biden, who voted for more lockdowns, should be precluded from any relief bill. They have voted to extend lockdowns, so we would be rewarding them to be paid not to work. That is unfair to the American taxpayer.

That's transactional thinking. You run a business that way, but NOT the government, the dynamics of public enterprise versus private enterprise are not the same, if not the opposite, altogether.

If scientists say 'lockdown area X' wisdom says pay attention to science.

Democrats are wiser than republicans on this matter in that we are going to listen to science.

Wisdom should be rewarded, not stupidity, that is precisely being fair to the American taxpayer.

Lockdowns should be punished, big time. Fighting a crisis by creating another crisis is pure stupidity. Not even science recommends it.

Republicans have a vested interested in making life as miserable as possible for Americans the next 4 years.
They will gladly sacrifice American lives if they can use it as an issue to propel themselves back into power. Power is the ONLY thing that the Republican party cares about. Nothing else.

Besides, its mostly black and brown people dying, a group they care very very little about anyways.

    Fake News.

HER REFUSAL TO ANSWER IS ALL THE ANSWER YOU NEED: Pelosi Repeatedly Refuses To Answer CNN About Why She Rejected Bigger Stimulus Bill Before Election.

Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi repeatedly refused to answer a question from a CNN reporter on Sunday about why she decided to accept a smaller stimulus package now, which she claimed was not nearly enough, after she refused to accept a much larger deal from the Trump administration prior to the election.

“Pelosi wouldn’t answer my question about why the $900 billion deal is more acceptable to her than the $1.8 trillion offer Mnuchin made to her this fall,” CNN’s Manu Raju said. “Pelosi wouldn’t call on me at the press conference, which is becoming a pattern, even though just five reporters were there. She left the press conference as I asked her the question. And she ignored my question in the hallway as well.”
    We all know the answer.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced on Sunday that he had secured a deal with other congressional leaders that will provide desperately needed funds to struggling Americans, although many on both sides said that it was not nearly enough. McConnell also slammed Democrats for stalling on getting a deal done, saying that Republicans had wanted to do this months ago, but that Democrats, by their own admission, had stalled because they didn’t want to make a deal before the election.

“There is no doubt this new agreement contains input from our Democratic colleagues. It is bipartisan. But these matters could have been settled long ago,” McConnell said. “So why did it take all this time? We know why. We have heard Democrats say openly that they were not willing to deal all summer and fall, but are willing now, because they now have a President-elect of their own political party. That’s not my accusation … that’s their admission.”

“So, look, I’m glad we’ve gotten this done. My Democrat colleagues and I have had good discussions this past week. Both parties have a lot to be proud of,” he concluded on the matter. “But I really regret that some on the Democrat side decided that partisan presidential politics were more important than getting urgent and noncontroversial relief out the door much, much sooner — to families who have needed this help badly. The progress of this past week could have happened in July, or in August, or in September, or in October. Senate Republicans were advocating for a package just like this one, all along, in real time. I just wish our partners on the other side had put political calculations aside and worked with us to make this happen a long time ago.”
