    Careful.

Considering what you've written here, someone in the government might label you a certain way, and that could trigger an effort to take your personal rights away.

You mean you are afraid of cosmetic features?

Yep, since it works like any semi-auto for the last 100 years you have to get specific on cosmetics.

Have you seen the fast loading system for ARs with fixed magazines?

I don't care about "cosmetic features". I care about "functional features".

But judging by your lack of response, looks like I did manage to make a strong case as to why they should be banned

They function the same as any semi-auto of the last 100 years. What do you think has changed? No one shot up schools 30 years ago.

30 years ago the AR-15 was 23 years old.

Funny - Australia managed to do exactly that

High powered rapid fire rifles are so rare over here that the criminal underground have resorted to hiring them to each other!!!

Our last mass shooting with one of these weapons was in 1996

None. They're magazine fed semi-auto rifles.

    Ban them both

    America isn't kangaroo land.

Attempts at any kind of confiscation or "voluntary" surrender of weapons will lead to mass loss of life all the way around.

AR-15s are not high powered. They use an intermediate round between a handgun round and rifle round.

The US banned certain rifles as recently as the nineties without a revolution. I don't think there will be any new significant regulations but if there is I don't see an armed revolt now. People who object will just ignore the laws.

    What changed?

    Testosterone poisoning

Why would anyone not a criminal want to own one of these weapons??

Do you realize how many AR-15's are in circulation now? Any such ban without confiscation would be pointless.

Even the FBI determined that the '94 ban had zero impact on gun related crime of any kind.

Hunting, target shooting, home defense, and the original purpose, defense of the people, the true power of government.

“One loves to possess arms, though they hope never to have occasion for them.”

    Thomas Jefferson

“No freeman shall ever be debarred the use of arms...”

    Thomas Jefferson

“The constitutions of most of our States assert, that all power is inherent in the people...that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed.”

He is wrong - what has changed is the frequency and that because of availability

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_shootings_in_the_United_States

One of the reasons why I rarely respond to some posters here is that I tire of constantly proving how inaccurate thier statements are

I know exactly how you feel.

Frequency may have changed but you fail to account for the massive increase in population, which has far outstripped any increase. You fail to account for that in any way and even then, your approach is to punish everyone for the actions of a fractional few rather than examine the root cause, which sure as hell isn't the gun.

Soooooo how often is it needed then??

I mean let us look at the balance of cost versus benefit

How often has the USA been invaded by foriegn powers that would require its citizens to use firearms as opposed to how many of these mass shootings have you had this year alone?
