I figured as much. He says there were zero and, as you show, that's inaccurate. But his inaccuracy works even better against his own argument than the facts. If he wants to tighten the rope around his own neck (argumentatively speaking), who am I to stop him?

.22 is illegal to hunt deer or muncjac in the UK.

    .223 (5.56mm) that's allowed.

The number of said rifles in circulation has changed. probably their relative price has come down too. Meaning they are more readily affordable and hence readily accessible.

And the rifle has changed in 30 years, From stock to magasine size, barrel length rails etc. add ons. Fire selectors.

So you you mean you can kill people with an AR-15 and you don't even need a rifle?

Or are you just repeating the old idiotic strawman by which you can't ban assault weapons because the moral responsibility for killing somebody cannot be ascribed to them?

Your question was "what has changed?" And it was answered. Don't tell me that I wasted my time answering your question and you didn't even have a point!

Judging by all the "2nd amendment nut" posting going on. Very superior.

What kind of argument is that supposed to be?

    No.

Instead ban people who are calling for a ban on guns.

The psychology is "I've got a gun.now I am powerful".

The warning sign is,.... you buy a gun.

Extra warning signs you buy a gun and threaten to use it against people who disagree with you. Like "the government" or "foreigners". or "your teacher". "Criminals".
Libs or dems or GOP or Trump or fatties or whatever.
People you de-humanise. Recognise as being OK to kill.

It makes no difference what is used but the libs concentrate on what is least used,

    Good luck with that.
    On a deer farm. Sure.
Drive up to it shoot it in the face.

In day time? In the wild? Righto.

Let me know when you get one. I'll be impressed.

You can't get a bigger warning sign of someones willingness to kill another person than them purchasing a weapon designed to do so.

Not like every gun ever no.
A rabbit gun would demonstrate the will to kill rabbits.

A double barreled shotgun may demonstrate the will to shoot clay pigeons.

A precision target rifle demonstrates a will to shoot targets.

The most military looking gun you can get? Hmm. Sends a clear message.
Says something about the psychology of the purchaser.

A handgun. Hmm sends the same signals.
    He's got human's in mind.

Hard to ignore that one really.

You want to concentrate on banning something else.. it's up to you to make your case.

I can and, judging by the lack of counter-arguments, have made one for banning assault weapons. As soon as I can make a case for banning something else, I'll get back to you.

I'm working on banning Pit Bulls in kids playgrounds... you can help there, if you want

Your ignorance is showing. Deer are hunted with .357, .44, .45, and .460 magnum calibers. These handguns are typically revolvers with a 6+ inch barrel. Some of these even have integrated rails for the mounting of a scope.

While semi autos are typically garbage at any distance over 30 feet, my .44 magum revolver is as accurate as my .30-06 out to 100 yards. I don't hunt with it, but I could and I know lots of people who do.

I already said it: an assault weapon is anything that we put in a list called "Assault Weapons". And, as I said, I'd start populating the list with any weapon that is designed to kill a lot of people in a short time. Exactly how many people is "a lot" and how long a "short time" is, I'll leave to the experts. But an AR-15 most certainly qualifies.

If you believe that having an armed public is the last line of defense in the event of foreign invasion, then obviously you want people to have weapons that are effective at killing people. And to those who say that small arms don't matter, you need look no further than Iraq. In the end it came down to going street by street, home by home.

The same is true in the event that a corrupt government gets tossed out by force.

I have always supported the 2nd Amendment but not because I give a crap about people hunting. Personal defense and the defense of the nation have always been the core reasons for my support. And I am torn over this. I hate to see any gun banned.

What do I know is you can't have weapons of mass destruction available for any maniac to purchase at Walmart.

The more excited someone gets about guns, the less I think they should own one. Guns are fun. They can save your life. But this masturbatory fetish that many people have is just scary. If you think you need 50 guns, then I definitely don't think you should own guns. There has to be some way limit access to sane people.
