No one is going to discuss someone's body functions with a stranger. The religion is a bit too heavy here, but sex? Have you been to the US? And how are we a powder keg?
You will have to define normality I think. While there is racism in the U.S. it isn't as widespread as the press will make you believe. And there is racism all over the world. It is perfectly normal. Sorry.
Drink milk out of the carton, and see how calm people don't react in America; it's one thing to be disgusted by this, and even voice it, but full blown meltdown, you may as well go to Iran and join your Iranian counterparts since it's something that requires an American to have a full blown hissyfit.
Wow! Well, next time I'm in downtown Chicago, I'll drink a carton of milk. You know what will happen? Nothing! How do you even come up with that?
The Lysol commercials make people very afraid of bugs, and wanting a "perfect" world without germs. Nonetheless disease could be spread by anything shared, e.g., my spork lent to you after my use and washed only in stream water. Bloody hell, compromises have to be made in the boonies.
Just be normal. No one's asking you to be weird and obsessive compulsive. Compromise is a two way street, and Americans don't bother changing. Don't be so judgemental, or you'd find no one wants to talk to you. You could be America on your own for all the world can care. Like Iran, they could be Iran on their own too.
Willow Grove, PA, living with a pair of American psychopaths it seems. 'Can't wear this shoe because I'm white, can't date a brown person' give me a break White America. The milk carton incident was when this American had a breakdown on me for waking up and drinking milk out of the carton.
OP Doncha just love the self-righteous indignation of the usual suspects when the shoe turns out to be on the other foot? Have they no humility or self-awareness?
I understand. But bear in mind that by that time, when Hilary answered that question, the meme was already in full flow. And it has never stopped since (see HERE). My point being that these matters are calculated to - and do play - on a far deep level for most people (in the same way that advertising does - both deriving from a very similar root). In your personal case you're more aware and cognizant and conscious than many others, so meme's have considerably less impact. If I understand you correctly then we are agreeing. Hilary's disdain, to my mind, covered the entire US public. Then and now. I'm not an American, so my insight is from a distance. However, I have long-term American friends who most certainly were influenced (and remain so) by the Russia-gate meme. Incredibly so, in fact, given their past understanding of deep events. More than at any time in my life, the events of 2016 onwards, awoke in me a new insight into the power of American political partisanship that is so strong that previously objective people were willing to abandon decades of insight to favour their chosen political party and candidate. Just a personal view, of course.
I think you'll like this. To me there is no finer example, if this example is true, of what you are referring to than this video. Yes, we do agree. Isn't that cool. There are many points of view on all things, and my point of view regarding Russian interference is far from your friends point of view. But that probably goes without saying...
Hell even visiting can change you. I think maybe this tourist who went to Harlem found out the hard way. There is a yuge difference in the level of violence when you are mugged in America as opposed to Europe, your mind probably couldn't comprehend the savagery in American criminals.
It's pretty remarkable. We're a lot harder on our criminals than Europe is, and our criminals are a lot harder in turn. Hmm.
Au Contraire. Most Americans are deeply aware of it, just as any people with a free media are aware of government hypocrisy. One of the few politicians to speak freely is Donald Trump, and the media hate him for it. Seems most people would prefer the doublespeak of politicians, the 'diplomatic' angle, rather than having them speak their minds.
So you don't know that the term "Londonstan" began in the UK? That's not surprising. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2006/jun/16/haslondonbecomelondistan
Unfortunately when Dirty Donald speaks it is 99% pure bullshit, and his right wing tribe swallow it like it was strawberry ice cream.
I worked in the US, albeit many years ago. But I'm not from London, although I'm a Brit born and living in the UK, so I guess that disqualifies me straight off the bat.
I am afraid that Trump secretly admires these guys because they may have helped him win. He will more likely send them fruit baskets than a team of assassins. Not saying that there is or will be any evidence produced that proves or even suggests that he colluded with them but in my opinion he most certainly appreciates what they did. Human nature here plays more than patriotism. Trump is a narcissist in the classic sense. That is why he likes Putin so much.
