did you see the labor campaign launch? I see Kevy hasn't changed, he is still peddling his lies and fantasies about Abbot and the coalition, even the lies and fantasies that have been completely debunked by senior public servants in the treasurey. What a fool. And their latest TV campaign adds are below gutter level, they are down in the sewer now. People I talk to are appalled at the way labor are trying to demonise Tony Abbott, I mean for God's sake, snatching things away from a child! These add's will backfire in labor's face the same way it did in Queensland when labor ran a campaign of personal vilification of Campbell Newman. We should expect a lot better from a group of people who want our endorsement to run the country for another three years!
I dont care who started it, it takes two to fight. If you two don't behave I will send you two to your rooms and no television.
Yes I did, disgusting. Why can't Labor run a good clean, non-negative campaign like the Lib/Nats do. All this negative talk, no real policies being released, no costings, just personal attacks about Abbotts last 31 days, oh, that was Abbots attack on Labor. What about the attacks on how he looks .. oh that was a coalition attack, um maybe it's his attacks on the Libs not releasing their costing, um well they haven't, why, what is it they are hiding. I love their employment plan, their first action is to sack 12,000 people. LMAO, they will however probably win, we are notorious for changing governments to see what we can get out of them, most people just looking at their hip pockets rather than the good of the nation. If they win, we lose, you got to love that one, it's so true.
Shim is like an annoying little sister! By the way, if a dog's got no balls, it will happily lick another's! It is a great analogy for the serial troll!
I think Labors policy of playing the man, not the party and their policies may have backfired. It has not just been Rudd, it has been a party policy to play the man for a long while now. The problem is that when they actually do bring up legitimate questions in regard to policy, people have switched off. A case of too late baby goodbye. For me, Rudd is a far better opposition leader headed into an election, than he is a PM . To be fair he was left a lemon that he had to try and sweeten with vinegar.
Got another piece of classic Kevin Rudd megolomania in the post box this morning. It is a campaign flyer for the local labor candidate, it has a picture of the local candidate with Kevy standing IN FRONT OF HIM!!
They had to play the man but they actually left it too late! They should never have lazily left it up to the media who were able to paint whatever picture they liked of Abbott and Gillard for that matter over a long period of time! Rudd was never an option, he is just a better option than abbott! Yes, leaders do have significant sway on policy, such as Turnbull and a republican focus! An ETS would never have been an issue due to bipartisan support etc! Conservative economic policy has never worked, especially during tough economic times, actually at all really! Big business will always do well under them though! it will always mean cheap labor due to a restricted market! Howard had no choice during his tenure in government due to massive world economic upturns over an extended period! He tried his best to support big business through work choices, which was obviously a detached mechanism to address his policy!
It's a matter of degree TV. Labor's campaigns and especialy this one, consist almost entirely of gutter level personality politics, fear mongering and straight out lies. I have not seen one Labor tv add that tells us what they are going to do if re-elected. Everyone I have seen has focused on Tony Abbot and what terrible things will happen to people if he is elected. They have been just patheticly negative fear mongering.
You're right, the Coalition didn't have to do any dirty work, News Corp. in Australia has done that job for them.
you've just described the coalition to a tee. Carbon Pricing, NBN, Economy....taxes, debt.....Australia is doomed, the sky was going to fall in directly after the CP was introduced. LMAO!!!
This says it all: http://http://m.smh.com.au/business/the-economy/hockey-closes-campaign-with-a-joke-20130905-2t7ab.html
Well it's done and dusted I think. Labor has to get ready for the bloodbath and get over it asap by really taking a good hard look at itself and I don't mean rearranging the furniture and stripping that bloody hideous 1960s vinyl wallpaper in the kitchen. I think Rudd will lose his seat, which will help, but even if he is returned he will not be Opposition Leader.
A major contributor to the ALP`s race to the bottom, is the mindless fanaticism of too large of a portion of it`s voter base. Unethical operators will always take advantage of slavishly compliant followers. There are more than enough examples of this "nodding dog" syndrome, on this very forum. Control of the minds of uneducated masses has never been easier than it currently is in this country, for union power brokers. The voter backlash against the degradation of the ALP, has been a godsend for another, even more anti Australian group, the Greens. How anyone could hold this country in such contempt, as to vote for the greens, is incomprehensible. The effect of another symptom of the decline of the ALP, the lowering of the political bar, is yet to be seen. If the conservatives are successful in the upcoming election, and if that new government performs adequately, this will be entirely due to the competence, and ethics of the new government. The present government has been completely lacking in setting any kind of standard to meet.
Yep, it's a done deal! One can only hope that he does lose his seat now! We don't need him in australian politics anymore! The further the campaign went on the less comfortable i was feeling about him, so you can understand the massive movement in recent weeks regarding polling! Who will or should be next labor leader? Anyone?
Bye bye Rudd. Labor has been off its game since as far back as Beasley. Can't think of who to lead Labor, perhaps a brand new face arriving out of nowhere. Hawke suggested Shorten / Pilbersek. Me, I'm so disappointed in Labor overall. Election morning and dreading tonight's result. Can't abide with either side of politics as things stand. Maybe a couple of drinks to offset the disappointment of the outcome, because both sides, Labor and Liberal, are disappointing to the core.
