    MOD WARNING

Eid al Adha, the day when millions of innocent animals lose their lives (ILLEGALLY in the USA) to Muslims who see it their duty to kill an animal, falls on Oct. 15, this year. Police and citizens alike should be aware and alert to the sounds of loud, crying (and dying) animals. If anyone sees one of these killings taking place, they should try to stop it if possible, without endangering oneself. At the very least, make a video which can serve as good evidence in court for prosecution.

Around the world, 100 million animals are killed on Eid al Adha (mostly in the middle east), with 10 million killed in Pakistan alone.

Animal sales people should not sell any animals (especially goats, sheep or cattle) to Muslims this month. (just as a precautionary measure). This could save a lot of animals' lives.

Yeah- because otherwise some non-Muslims might buy those goat, sheep or cattle......and kill them and eat them.

Really? You are telling farm people not to sell their cattle to Muslims because they might get killed?

You do realize that most farm kids grow up raising lambs or calves to be sold for slaughter right? 4H and FFA baby- even those who don't really live on farms get to learn what happens to farm animals.

This is a dup thread of one that was closed before.

    Americans kill and eat animals.

Muslims kill and eat animals for a holiday.

    No biggie.

    LOLOL

Why don't you go after Christians who eat turkey, ham , lamb and brisket on feast days?

You may be a vegan.. but you can't force your diet on the rest of America.

The vegans I know all became vegans because they were grossly overweight.

Chickens. I don't know the number, but America eats literally millions of chickens every single day. I mused over this today at lunch, as I had some wings, beef brisket from one animal, and beef stew from another animal.
The OP is just goofy if he thinks the cops need to interfere with the killing of animals.
I used to hunt varmints. The OP would be frightened out of his wits if he were to take a ride around the plains of Wyoming on a nice day and see that people kill tens of thousands of prairie dogs every day for sport. In other places like Idaho and wherever there are planted fields that are bordered by open land, young men can be found just about every night, racing around in pick-up trucks with powerful lights, decimating jack rabbits with "assault rifles". The world is a scary place, and so unfair to animals!

Those jack rabbit decimaters in Idaho, are criminals subject to arrest, prosecution, and imprisonment >>>

Idaho Statute 25-3504. COMMITTING CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.

"Every person who is cruel to any animal, or who causes or procures any animal to be cruelly treated, or who, having the charge or custody of any animal either as owner or otherwise, subjects any animal to cruelty shall, upon conviction, be punished in accordance with section 25-3520A, Idaho Code. Any law enforcement officer or animal care and control officer, subject to the restrictions of section 25-3501A, Idaho Code, may take possession of the animal cruelly treated, and provide care for the same, until final disposition of such animal is determined in accordance with section 25-3520A or 25-3520B, Idaho Code."

Those people who kill tens of thousands of prairie dogs every day for sport in Wyoming, are violent criminals who are subject to arrest, prosecution, and imprisonment.

    Wyoming Statute § 11-29-101 - 115

§ 6-3-203. Cruelty to animals; penalties; limitation on manner of destruction

Killing pests is not cruel, from a legal standpoint. Culling an overpopulated group of animals by shooting them doesn't fit either of those statutes.

Why do you think people raise those animals? It sure is not for pets for the vast majority of them. They would not exist if they were not being used for food. That was the reason they were domisticated to begin with. I have many goats if they want them and have the money they can have them. I will be busy on the 15th anyway a 4 day antlerless only modern gun season for deer starts the 12th.

You do not get to decide how Muslims will keep their religious festivals.

Most non-Muslims likely have no idea I had never heard of it till now. Not being religious not a subject I usually research. I am sure you know but will post a link for those who do not.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/religion/islam/eid_haj.shtml

Video of Muslims performing the ritual, do not watch if animal death or blood disturbs you.

As a lifelong hunter I am not fond of PETA or the HSUS. They claim to be animal "rights" organizations yet do not even believe animals have a right to life. Which without that no other rights matter. While feral and unwanted dogs and cats are a major problem and I understand why many must be destroyed. To claim to be for animal rights then kill a healthy animal is a major hypocrisy.

Growing up in Arabia we knew a lot about Eid al ahda, Eid al Fitr and Ramadan.

I have seen animals slaughtered by the Bedouin.. They are very skilled and very fast.. so the animal doesn't get frightened and struggle.

I don't think much of PETA either.

Depends on what you call a "pest". You kill most animals, you go to jail, and I'll be the first one to turn you in.

One could only assume you don't think much of PETA (or any group concerned about the welfare of animals). That's obvious.

FALSE! When you say "you" (whether you know it or not), you are referring to ALL of the American people. And YES, WE most certainly DO get to decide in our govt of the people, by the people, for the people. I know at this time with the govt shutdown going on, and certain Republicans in the House who ought to be hung by their heels, that does look off-base, but it still is the guiding American principle of this nation. If/whenever the American people decide that Muslims will NOT keep their religious festivals, those festivals will be shut down. In addition, If/whenever the American people, and their law enforcement representitives (the police) decide that Muslims are in violation of animal cruelty laws, those Muslims will be arrested, tried, prosecuted, and imprisoned. And If/whenever the American people, and their law enforcement representitives (the police) decide that Islam, in general, is unconstitutional and ILLEGAL (perhaps right after the next presidential election), all mosques will be shut down and converted to other uses, and all Korans will likewise be banned and confiscated.

In America the US Constitution and the laws of the US are supreme (Article 6 Section 2), not Islam, or it's many criminal practices.

And the fact that the animals are sold for food is exactly why they shouldn't be sold to Muslims. Despite the rantings of the Islamapologists ganging up on me 10 to 1 in this thread and the 2 others they succeeded in derailing (with help from malicious or negligent moderators), Eid al Adha is NOT ABOUT FOOD. It is simply an idiotic and evil ritual that kills animals, based on the idea of sacrifice, which Eid al Adha and its millions of animal murders has no relation to whatsoever. If Muslims want to sacrifice, they don't need animals to do that. And if they want to please God, they sure won't do it by murdering innocent, peaceful animals. They could please God by just being good in their everyday life (just the opposite of what they do on Eid al Adha).

So you believe Islam should be banned, mosques destroyed and Qurans confiscated and banned. You do realise that the first amendment contradicts your opinion?

No really you don't get to decide what Muslims will do with their religious festivals.

Outside of the U.S. it isn't our business.

Inside the U.S., the rights of Muslims are protected by our Constitution up to and until the point that they break other laws.

If Muslims- or Christians or Jews or anyone is violating animal cruelty laws, please report them. But simply slaughtering animals for ritual sacrifice is not a violation of any law that I am aware of- morally it is no more just or unjust than the slaughtering of animals that we do everyday here in the U.S.

And all the rest of what you said is just your usual rant about overturning our Constitution because you don't like Islam. And luckily that will never happen.

    - - - Updated - - -

Oh no- now you have done it. You opened up a whole can of worms- now you get his special interpretation of the Constitution.

    - - - Updated - - -

Again- why would anyone who is selling goats and sheep care whether the animals are being sold to be slaughtered for food or for ritual?

Animal is still dead. Farmer still gets paid for the animal.

Yes, we certainly DO get to decide what Muslims will do with their religious festivals, just as we get to decide everything else in America.

In my locality, 2 detectives from the Sheriff dept went out (from my phone call) and informed the Muslim neighbors of mine that they would be arrested if they killed any of their animals for Eid al Adha. I saw them talking to the Muslim landwnowners with their white shirts and ties, and shiny gold badges attached to their belts. These same animal cruelty laws exist across America.

Looks like the Constitution's Supremacy clause and US Codes 2384 & 2385 are special to you, only in that you choose to pretend they don't exist (simply because they don't fit in with your "special interpretation of the Constitution.")

Anyone with an ounce of decency wouldn't ask such a silly question.

No, animal is not dead if he doesn't get sold, and if he gets sold to a slaughterhouse that will turn him into food, at least his death will go to sustain those people who eat him, rather then a bunch of misguided Muslims who engage in a crazy ritual, based on some badly convoluted misconceptions about "sacrifice".

PS- you escaped having your intellectual ass handed to you in the closed thread, only because she closed it just before I was about to post.

"The Qur'an leaves no doubt that the actual, physical sacrifice of animals is not part of the core spiritual truth of Islam. Their flesh and blood does not reach God. It is your piety that reaches Him. Imam Masri points out that in every instance in the Qur'an in which sacrifice is discussed; it is treated as a means to provide charity. Muslims fulfil the meaning of the sacrifice by demonstrating piety in the form of charity, not by taking the life of an innocent animal."

"In this spirit, Muslim scholars have pointed out that slaughtering an animal and donating the meat may have been the simplest and most useful way to perform charity in a desert community where protein was scarce and money little used. In the modern world, however, it would be simpler and more helpful to donate money, or perhaps community service, to help the poor. The poor today have many needs. Meat can at best serve only one; money can satisfy them all. By donating money to celebrate the Hajj, and on other appropriate occasions, Muslims can demonstrate submission to the will of God by performing charity in the way that will be of the greatest benefit to the recipients - and with no necessity to take the lives of blameless animals. Fulfilling the call of the Qur'an and the Ahadith, they will be showing compassion to all of God's creatures, human and animal alike."

Ha, hardly. First of all "most animals" would include insects, arachnids, etc which far outnumber the mammals, lizards, and birds you're probably actually thinking of. Secondly, as long as I own the animal, I'm pretty much allowed to end its life any time that I want so long as the death is quick and relatively painless. Your zealotry about animal welfare seems to be getting in the way of your critical thinking.

What animal cruelty laws are you talking about? All animal cruelty laws are state by state.

Here is a summary of Florida's animal cruelty laws- which one was your neighbor violating?

    Here is the kicker.....

828.22. Humane Slaughter Act; humane slaughter and livestock euthanasia; requirements

    (1) Sections 828.22-828.26 may be cited as the "Humane Slaughter Act."

    (2)

    (a) The Legislature of this state finds that the use of humane methods in the killing of livestock prevents needless suffering, results in safer and better working conditions for persons engaged in the slaughtering industry or other livestock operations, brings about improvement of products and economy in slaughtering or other livestock operations, and produces other benefits for producers, processors, and consumers which tend to expedite the orderly flow of livestock and their products.

    (b) It is therefore declared to be the policy of this state to require that the slaughter of all livestock and the handling of livestock in connection with slaughter shall be carried out only by humane methods and to provide that methods of slaughter shall conform generally to those employed in other states where humane slaughter is required by law and to those authorized by the Federal Humane Slaughter Act of 1958, and regulations thereunder.

    (3) Nothing in ss. 828.22-828.26 shall be construed to prohibit, abridge, or in any way hinder the religious freedom of any person or group. Notwithstanding any other provision of ss. 828.22-828.26, in order to protect freedom of religion, ritual slaughter and the handling or other preparation of livestock for ritual slaughter are exempted from the terms of ss. 828.22-828.26. For the purposes of this action the term "ritual slaughter" means slaughter in accordance with s. 828.23(3).

Assuming you actually live in Florida, I would be curious what law the Sheriff's are acting upon- since according to state law, your neighbor's can ritually slaughter any livestock.

And no- you- do not get to decide what Muslims can do in America. "We"- which includes others besides yourself are not trying to prevent Muslims from doing what good Americans do to livestock- slaughtering them by the thousands and millions.

    LOL.....

    Good dodge.

And? There is no law in America that says livestock can only be sold if it will be turned into food, or that animals can only be killed if they are turned into food.

Morally- killing an animal for a profit- i.e. slaughterhouses- is no more or less moral than killing animals for a religion, or killing animals for sport(hunting). When I am ready to stop eating meat- I will at that point take up the moral ground and be equally against all killing of animals. I respect that you are a vegetarian and have given up eating animals based upon your principles- but 90% or more of Americans don't agree with you.

    LOL.....

    It sounds revisionist.

Animal sacrifice is one of the earliest forms of observance in Islamic and Hebrew faiths. The story of Ibraham/Abraham, for one...
