I think what's important is whether or not other passengers on the plane were getting unopened cans. If the woman is telling the truth about the man receiving an unopened can of beer, she could very well have something to her case. But if that part is bogus, then I see no discrimination.

I've gotten full unopened soft drinks (and beers) on Southwest, United, Horizon (Alaska), US Air and Delta.

You should actually read the article you use as proof. It was rated half true. And its much more difficult to count all of those deaths attributed to right wingers because unlike the terrorists who holler allah Akbar when they kill someone, the rightwingers don't holler out Jesus Christ.

I guess the airlines are just suspicious of muslims, and of course they really have no reason to be like that, do they? But if someone had been suspicious of the hijackers on 9-11 before they left the ground, we would still have the twin towers, and 3000 people still alive with their families.

This is no islamaphobia, its just using common sense. Like when you step into a spot that has a snake on the ground. You don't give the snake the benefit of the doubt before you jump back, for it may be poisonous, or it may be non poisonous. Common sense takes over and you jump, so sue me on behalf of the snake that got pissed off, or hurt feelings. But I do have snake a phobia. As anyone with a brain would have.

And yes I am comparing muslims with snakes, for you do not know what kinda of muslim you have, now do you?

Christianophobia... Something the left wing never talks about. Everybody on the right has a faux phobia when they disagree with something, yet they can blame everything on Christians out of pure hate and fear.

There are different airlines, I'm sure they have different policies.

Should be easy for this airline, though. They can show that it's a policy of theirs that is applied to everyone. That should take the wind out of the sails of this frivolous shakedown lawsuit pretty quick.

Although, I'm leaning more toward this being a political stunt. Bring enough companies to court over perceived grievances to Muslims and pretty soon nobody will be willing to challenge them, which is the goal of Muslims and their progressive enablers.

I have no problem with Muslims, I think their religion is silly like Christianity, but to each their own. Of course, I have a massive issue with coercion, and to the degree that any Muslim individual uses/imminently threatens coercion to enact the tenants of their religion, I support potentially lethal retaliatory force against them - as I do anyone with who uses coercion to advance their ends.

    ie: let's have peace man:weed::hippie:...

...until someone initiates force. then lethal retaliatory force is justified against them :dual::machinegun:...but only them.

Also, I oppose anti-discrimination legislation because I feel anyone should be able to refuse service to anyone else for any reason, except where the contrary is explicitly to through voluntary contract. People say "no way you would feel the same way if you were black", and I reply "yes I would, I consider myself the authority on how I would feel. I support the right of Christians in the south to refuse service to Atheists like myself, entire towns if they (the aggregate of individual property owners, not their government) so choose".

Anti-discrimination legislation is coercive, and so I oppose it as I do Muslim extremists who use coercion.

I am of the mind that personal anecdotes via social media are not exactly the best basis for an opinion.

Whilst I don't know if her story is true or not, it certainly does have some harbingers of self serving convenience to it. Additionally, it is a singular perspective not subject to editorial oversight.

Woman, man, I thought progressives didn't like distinguishing the difference. As far as not allowing muslims on a plane, It wouldn't bother me a bit. Welcome to the real world and real life opinions from real people you don't find in magazines or on MSNBC and Huffington Post.

Moral to the story, the muslim didn't get an unopened Diet Coke. I've grown tired of giving a (*)(*)(*)(*).

Absolutely. A very good friend of mine used to have that ever growing number in his signature, and it stayed updated.

Of course, the key word in the OP is "alleged"...

Has there been an investigation? Has anyone been found guilty? Or is this just another hit piece?

Bullies aren't gonna bully a real threat. They'll stick to trying to push Christians and right wingers around because we're the responsible ones that let it roll off our shoulders. But that time is coming to a close.

it's funny how apple refuses to expand in Indiana due to a law that allows bakers not to sell cakes for gay weddings.... preaching that it's about equality for gays, while at the same time, expanding the apple market in Saudi Arabia, where real human rights violations against gays are being perpetrated.

it's funny when to watch gay supporters in the US try to justify their hypocrisy when their agendas clash

I can't stand Apple. I refuse to buy their overpriced products, and I wish they would leave Louisiana. They can cry in all the blue states where they'll get back pats, head pets, and all the sympathy their tiny little hearts desire.

You could make a good shank from a can of soda, it would probably take some time but folded upon itself a number of times would be enough to act as an impromptu weapon...

you think kind of discrimination is justified? do you feel that way about all types of discrimination, you said muslims discriminate against gay peple and therefre deserve this kind of prejudice. Do you feel the same way about black people? what about imigrants from mexico most of them are strict catholics who do discriminate against homosexuals does that mean its okay to discriminate againts mexicans? What about the fact that some gays are also racists does that mean they dont deserve rights as well?

btw its hard to tell by your posts but which of these groups do you belong too?

His first paragraph lost me. I thought when I read the title of the thread it might be interesting. But after two sentences I came to the conclusions it was just another propaganda piece from AQ's or ISIS PR wing.

no, she wanted the can like everyone else, the cups only hold about half a can, so normally they fill your cup and give you the can to fill it up again after you drink it

All it is... is a Tweet. No one knows if it's even true.
Funny how many people are claiming to boycott United based on a single Tweet.

Looking at the bottom of the page here, at the "similar threads", I can't help but wonder if this same "Muslim Scholar" is one of those that it's "OK to kill and rob...."

Then I wondered.... why is it important to call these people "Muslim scholars".
    What the hell are they?
And.... are the non-scholar Muslims less important? Less credible?

    Or just less angry....

I thought that too, then realized someone could easily try to wrestle that from somebody.

that's assuming someone will, or he doesn't grab a hostage first.

in a perfect world, you're right, 10 guys could easily do that.... but a coordinated effort with multiple passengers doing it makes it possible to drive a plane into a highrise in NYC... two times, and the pentagon

there were four opportunities to have passengers do your scenario on 9/11.... only 1 had it happen. 25% success rate in that situation is not good odds
