have not flown for years, but they used to give you a plastic cup with ice and a can of pop..... they would fill the cup for you then place the can beside the cup

But seriously, if she can prove that no other person had their can of soda opened, she might have a case. I doubt it though. I'm guessing that the airlines has a policy of opening the cans. For everyone - not just for Muslims.

Perhaps they don't think beer drinkers pose the same risk.

 

I'm guessing what happened here is the airplane had a rule against open cans of soda on airplanes (since they could, in theory, be used as weapons), and this Muslim with a chip on her shoulder pulled her own equivalent of the "it's because I'm black!!" race card strategy that has been so successful for other left-wing minority groups.

Now there will be a lawsuit and settlement and she'll extract a hefty amount of jizya from the infidel

FTR, I support discrimination against people that have sucker punched our country as recently as this century, and I'm as American as it gets. I had one in the cab of my blending unit when I was in the oilfield and some coworkers thought it'd be funny to jump in the cab and turn my heater on high (It was the summer of 2003 and very hot) while I was pumping downhole on a frac job. While rigging down, I realized that the inside of my cab looked wet. Yeah, I had two cokes explode. They were on my console and I'm guessing one was blown into the sleeper before it exploded too, or it was placed back there by my buddies.
