Hillary was viewed in Russian media as a threat. She was a known evil. Trump was seen as an option with opportunities for bettering the relationship. A wide range of points of view was presented on him starting with the best expectations possible and ending with an opinion that he would negotiate every move of his as a tough bargainer. The reality showed that relationship with Russia is something that Trump is just not able to change or even influence.

I have my doubts.
So far the US has invaded or declared war on enemies who were untrained and ill equipped, and each time have lost or are still losing (except for Grenada). Now they would face a well trained, disciplined and well equipped army.
The only way the US could win would be by fighting at a distance with bombers and missiles, troops on the ground would be eaten alive.

 

She did not openly threaten war with Russia.

 

She did so repeatedly, vowing to shoot down Russian military and civilian aircraft over Syria. The head of the American military Joint Chiefs of Staff testified before Congress that would mean "war with Russia" and that the USA military would refuse such an order.

NEVER before in US history has any president or candidate for president vowed to use the US military to shoot down Russian aircraft in a direct military offensive attack.

 

War with N. Korea would not lead to a world war. Non-action will lead to the obliteration of numerous American cities and destruction of the American economy - with China the winner without directly firing a shot.

 

The only president we had who dodged the draft was Bill Clinton.

 

Kim Jung Un has promised via his foreign secretary to engage in a missile attack against the USA. Only a complete and total idiot American would not do ANYTHING possible to make it impossible to carry out that promise to mass murder millions of Americans and destroy entire USA major cities.

American military aircraft shooting down Russia aircraft over Syria would be no different than Russian military aircraft shooting down American aircraft over Britain or Germany.
