    https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018...-laws-where-word-out-place-can-cost-your-life

The European Court of Human Rights on 25.10.2018 ruled that criticism of Muhammad constitutes incitement to hatred -- meaning that in Europe, criticizing Muhammad is no longer protected free speech
What the court has actually done, however, is rule out the possibility of any debate in which a range of various experts and members of the public could take part. Now, it seems, the only views that will be respected in the public forum are those of devout Muslims.

On many or most US college campuses, free speech died years ago.

Yes, but this specifically refers to blasphemy against mohammed.
There is no mention of blasphemy against any other religion worldwide, this refers
    to islam only

Would it make you feel better if Muslims were also prohibited from criticizing other people's religions?

It would be more fair but the best answer is to just have free speech regardless of religion. And of al the people to make speech exceptions for these eurotards do it for a pedofile..what a sesspool!

Correct. And so did America. We are a skeleton of what we were just 60 years ago. So I say we lasted a short 150 years tops. 1913 they took over our money and nation.

Now I don't know why the Alt Right James Fields killed that girl and injured those protesters attacking him with bats, clubs etc, etc, etc, and threatening his life with assault rifle, but I do know if it had been a Antifa , BLM, NOI, LaRaza or any other radical violent group he would have been found innocent by means of self defence.
But this kid got life plus 418 years. Not saying he was innocent.

Most of Europe didn't have free speech before this, and after, they still don't.

Just another item added to the Euro Word Crimes List.

This (the ruling) is just another example of the gradual encroachment of islam upon the world.
One cannot criticise islam, but muslims may criticise any other religion.

IF one is to take the title literally.......then it is the population itself that is to blame or has chosen such a path by the people they elect.

It is becoming apparent that folks do not appreciate the power of their vote....... and the critical , logical, sensible thinking that must go in to making that vote. One does not vote on the basis of hating a candidate or falling for a line of BS . One HAS to examine capability, experience, knowledge base........psychological maturity, tact and diplomatic skills. ethical . legal history .......etc etc.

One can never take the democratic process and benefits for granted. When democratic freedoms are being curtailed on the basis of "national security" or whatever excuse........ a nation is in trouble. Democratic values must prevail....... or a different system will sneak in while everyone is watching.

Not quite sure what you mean...the topic is the curtailment of free speech to favour
    muslim beliefs.

Would you let others determine what you cannot say? Would you let others decide what you must say?

Odd that we see so many Europeans on these boards criticising Americans, their laws and politicians while they're going down faster than Paris Hilton. Free speech in Canada is fragile as well

The link refers to the naming of a teddy bear "mohammed" and how hurtful that is to muslims.
If the naming of a teddy bear is curtailed, due to hurt feelings, then what does this imply.
What if you name your dog, cat or canary "mohammed" is that also banned.
As I mentioned earlier, this is just another encroachment of our rights to appease muslims. They gradually
chip away at our rights day by day and there seems to be a total lack of concern when the topic is raised.

I think so. We have an example of it here.
Yes, but we should be careful about silencing people. I think what we should do is point out hate speech.
