    There was a time not too long ago, when the teams did not come out of the locker room until after the anthem was played. Since it has now been politicized, they should go back to the old way in my view. I agree that this is not the time nor the place for this protest; however, this is what we have and once again Trump's mouth has gotten in the way of his brains. He has made something out of nothing again, just as he did in the Charlottesville incident, when he refused to condemn the nazis. Puerto Rico has been decimated,
    and he has time to condemn some football players and has done nothing for and has said nothing about the people of Puerto Rico. Shows how much he cares about peoples lives. Labron James is correct in his assessment of Trump.

    What Trump did was exacerbate the fake 'patriotism' expressed by an American right-wing who is always changing the measure to the point that being a "patriot" has about as little meaning as being a "Christian".

    This could blow over if the owners put their foot down and tell the players to confine their political activities to the off season

    If so all will be forgiven in a week or two

    But if the player protests drag on it will be very bad for the NFL

    More people seeing what the left is really about.

    I think thats why trump says a lot of the things he says. To get the left angry and thus sloppy enough to take the mask off for a moment.

    That makes no sense? How can you despise freedom by exercising your freedom by calling them out? They are free to kneel and could be fired for doing it, that's their right. The fans have a right to call them out and make them pay by choosing not to support them financially. The one and only thing anyone is doing to despise the sacrifice of our veterans, is the guys kneeling during the anthem and trying to turn an all inclusive celebration into a racial divide.

    Trump says what he says because he is a moron. He was just as big a moron on Twitter before he even entered the presidential running as he is now, for instance, but of course few people paid attention to it then. Trump is not some calculating genius, but he is cunning as a con man. Cons rely on the gullibility of others more than any great genius on the part of the con man. You give him his power.

    The NFL team owners have been appeasing their players for years.

    Crips and Bloods gang affiliation, they aren't fired.

    Sexual assault, they aren't fired.

    Being sent to prison for illegal dog fights, they aren't fired.

    Punching a girlfriend in an elevator, they aren't fired.

    Assault and battery and they aren't fired.

    Drunk driving conviction, they aren't fired.

    Ok, I understand.

    But not respecting the National Anthem and the American flag and the military and first responders ???
