You've already (likely) been exposed to dozens of studies, and hundreds of comments from forum members who are actually medical professionals. You have either ignored them completely, or stopped reading them when the facts went against your narrative.

I trust science and 100+ years of practice.

My linking you to anything will result in nada, so there's no reason for me to bother.

You compared pants to the mask, really? Public decency has been an ordinance since forever. The mask thing since April and new Intel suggests that you actually need more (goggles, etc) to try to prevent the infection.

Let people be people, if they get sick and die oh well.

Totally different. The government maintains the roads, therefore they have a say as to what rules must be followed to use said roads. Private businesses are not slaves to authoritarian lefties, they are supposed to be free to conduct commerce without fear of interference...

And I am going to start moving the goal post to irrelevant topics every time I cannot come up with a valid argument to justify government abuse of power.

    So you have nothing?

And btw, be prepared to discuss the study design, inclusion criteria, data collection, calculations and results demonstrating that your claim is correct

    That’s the
big issue with the progressive left. They are unwilling to trust other Americans to be responsible citizens and feel the need to bend others to their will using whatever coercive methods it takes to compel obedience

    Interfere
Interference in the rights, liberty, and freedom of other Americans is what the authoritarian left knows how to do.

Oh no, this is not moving the goal posts at all. This is exactly the same type of argument being put forth about common sense recommendations to fight a health crisis that has killed over 200k people in this country in barely 8 months. There are many laws that we follow, and many courtesies that we extend, that are at their core based on respect and consideration for other people as well as ensuring a functional and stable society. Don't try to tell me that mask and social distancing requirements work any differently than the rest of the laws that we accept without question that accomplish the exact same goal. Protecting people, at the cost of a little personal freedom, like getting to choose which side of the road you want to drive on, or where you can dump your pees and poops.

Sorry, but the direction of traffic has zero to do with the topic. Its about abuse of power.

A man is on a hike and will not be within 15 feet of another human. He is fined $300. for not wearing a mask.
A man is on a paddle board thousands of feet from another human, He is arrested.
Mom n pop shops are forced to close their doors while people crowd WalMart to buy the exact same item.
Barbers and salons were forced to close their doors by politicians with nice haircuts.
Politicians reacted to the problem by stuffing seniors in nursing homes.
Public gatherings are prohibited by law unless for BLM.

Please explain the benefit to society.

I have a lot, but there's literally no point in sharing it with you. If you truly want the data, the forum is littered with peer review studies. I'm not doing your homework for you. If I thought your interest was genuine, I would post them. I know, however, you have seen them, and ignored them.

It doesn't take work, it is however the first social regulation since Prohibition(And that worked out real well). I know it's for a good and righteous cause, but some people just aren't going to act like the entire world is affected(even though it is). In other words, some people will wear the mask at their work places, but might not wear it at home or in their cars or in their gardens.

The more risk adverse, the more they'll protect themselves and sadly the less risk adverse will take less precautionary steps.
