My assumption is all states have involuntary manslaughter statutes.
Wow, a lot of pea-brain thinking going on in this thread. Where to begin?
1. Gun ownership is a right just as voting is. You can not go after one without justifying the same restrictions on the other.
2. The shop and manufacturer are not liable for the misuse of the product. Ford and the dealership are not liable for the catastrophe in Wisconsin, despite what the liberal media says.
3. Again and again, the real cause is ignored. Why did the kid do what he did? How do we change the system to create support for people going through rough times so they don't turn to violence?
That is complete bullshit and an out and out intentional lie. You're simply making up your own definition of what "mass shooting" means and running with it as if it were the official version and hoping stupid people who don't know any better just take your word for it. As for "doing something about it", tell me what it is, with specificity, that you want to do that doesn't violate the 2A. It was already illegal for this kid to possess this weapon; how much more illegal do you want to make it?? As if yet another law is going to make someone like him reconsider, and say, "Well, you know what, I was going to shoot up my school today, but they passed this other law making it more illegal than it was a week ago, so I'm gonna "just say no"."
More more more laws and regulations would not have changed spit with this case. And what's up with him lawyering up as soon as they caught him? That's new, we've never seen that before. Not to mention there were apparently so many warning signs that his parents were onsite with school staff to discuss his behavioral issues the very day he shot the place up. When it's so obvious that a kid is going to be the next school shooter and nothing is done, you worrying about controlling guns of actual law-abiding citizens is completely pointless and nothing more than a distraction.
I just hope MI has the death penalty, and that they impose it rapidly.
Mass shootings take place in Chicago and Detroit every single day, but sure, let's single this one out...
If vehicle manufacturers and auto insurance agencies got sued every time someone killed people in a reckless driving incident or drunk driving, every single auto manufacturer and insurance agency in the entire United States would be out of business...
The latest report is that the parents have gone missing.
You won't find the right to vote mentioned in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. You mean CA has to put restrictions on high capacity magazine voting rights?
Wow, a lot of pea-brain thinking going on in this thread. Indeed.
Ok, we can turn this around if you want. To vote you must now go through a background check (every time), show ID, and if it is a statewide or higher level election you must submit your vote a week in advance and go through a waiting period.
Why would you sue the gun manufacturer? And why the shop they legally bought it from?
What country do you live in?
The day before the shooting, a teacher had seen the suspect searching online for ammunition for the gun in class, which led to a meeting with school officials, the prosecutor said. After being informed by the school about their son’s behavior, Mrs. Crumbley texted to her son: “LOL, I’m not mad at you. You have to learn not to get caught,” Ms. McDonald said.
This weekend, a dozen young black men and boys will be shot to death in Chicago. No national headlines for them.
that is only because the media have decided to call any shooting where more than two people are shot a "mass shooting." IE: a Chicago gangland drive-by which used to just be called homicide is not a mass shooting - intentionally so to gin up hysteria from persons such as yourself.
Because that would be disingenuous obfuscation. We have a VIOLENCE epidemic and we have for a long time since leftist policies refuse to hold individuals accountable for their actions and instead stupidly try to shift blame the inanimate objects. Frankly, this blame-shifting has become a syndrome. A psychological disorder. People who would blame inanimate objects for the actions of a cognizent being need help.
We do need to do something about it: Abandon the childish emotive arguments and equip schools with the tools to defend against such attacks. AND FOR **** SAKE TAKE THE ******N "GUN-FREE ZONE" SIGNS OFF THE ******N DOOR OF THE SCHOOL.
Shhhhhh. (whispering) 'we don't talk about those.'
Give the kids little baseball bats. Next.
Speculation. And you claim you "do your research."
Straw man. Yawn.
Just dropping this off....
Gunmakers not liable for Las Vegas massacre deaths, court rules (msn.com)
Hopefully they're with Brian Laundrie.
Their lawyer has already released a statement saying that they are on their way back and left the area for their safety. Their whereabouts are known...
No one on either side of this issue wants innocent people murdered. Will they ever work together? You attack the rights of law abiding citizens and honest businesses and they must defend themselves from these attacks. Meanwhile, violence is a daily occurrence.
Every now and then, someone uses their head and focuses on protecting life instead of attacking rights.
you’re saying the gun store and manufacturer should have known the gun they were making and selling would be used to kill kids by someone who wasnt even the person they sold it to?
How utterly bizarre
So your ok with gun registration then.
It was his Christmas present ... it's in the news ...
I don’t know how much to trust this soon after the tragedy. The narrative seems to change as new information develops, particularly during whatever trials come out of it. The Rittenhouse narrative changed completely from beginning to end.
This is completely wrong.
No democracy in the world has such permissive gun laws as the US.
With the appalling results that come with it.
Is this the price of freedom?
The right to vote isn't killing anyone, while the gun culture is slowly destroying the social fabric and leading to the decay of the US as a society.
