As I said, it would depend.

I never said it would be.

Where did I say I wanted that?

Isn't it possible a birth could happen in secret, and then that child could be abused? Same thing applies there too.

See, you can't even start an investigation, there is NOTHING to "suspect" or "report".

And turning a woman in because you suspect she MAY have had an abortion would turn a woman's life into hell. Do you think an investigation WON'T disrupt her life, it may even cause her to lose her job, lose friends, lose her reputation, for sure lose money, undergo a physical examination, have her medical records made public, upset her family, her children if she has any, all because YOU suspect she might have had an abortion which she may not have had......suspect it yet you have NO way to even voice your suspicions???

WHY would you want to do that? To make yourself feel better? Feel self-righteous? Why?

    - - - Updated - - -

No, it doesn't....if a child is BORN, there's a child......if no child is born there is nothing...DUH!

The only people who could possibly know that an abortion had been attempted would be medical staff in a hospital - and then only if something had gone wrong.

And they did not turn women in when abortion was illegal so they most likely wouldn't if it were illegal again.

IF abortion were illegal SOME would go unnoticed. As for the rest, they would be proven the same way post 24 week abortions are proven now in the USA. Wasnt there a woman in GA recently convicted of an illegal abortion? Surely they had to prove that before convicting her?

Well, obviously if the fetus was medically aborted we would know why the physician believed it was necessary to abort it. If it was natural no surgical intervention would have been provided. Duh. Abortions shouldn't be used as a form of birth control given the multiple means of birth control available today. And, a women shouldn't wait until they are 2-3 months pregnant to decide they want to have an abortion. IMO if a women becomes pregnant and wants to have an abortion they have an opportunity to do so prior to the fetus having a heart beat. If they are so irresponsible to wait longer, they lose their right to make the decision and should follow through with the pregnancy. If they don't want the baby there are plenty of people that do. After the there is a heart beat it becomes a human being. That is just my opinion and I understand and accept if your opinion differs.

I share your opinion. Although i think it is a human being from conception. I also think it should have human rights at conception, but that its mothers right to bodily autonomy (which begins prior to conception and should be exercised with the use of contraception) can oveeride its right to life until it changes from an embryo to a fetus. At this stage it can be physically differentiated from any other mammal as human, and can also move and respond to stimulus etc.

This is only my opinion and I respect that you think it should have rights as soon as it heart functions.

Most wouldn't. Jennifer Lee said they never did back in the day. Instruments , such as crochet hooks, that were removed from the woman's uterus were discreetly disposed of and nothing said about it.

Abortions are a form of birth control and always have been.

No woman should be told to provide children for women who can't have them.

Women should take as long as they need to decide. Nobody should feel they have to rush a decision.

Mind, at the same time, women should be aware that early abortions are far less invasive and less dangerous.

Again, this is only an opinion and is not supported by the law in your country or mine. The only countries that do support that by law (or lack of law) is Canada, North Korea and China. The only country that supports that idea in practice is China. I think it is safe to say the vast majority of the worlds population does not agree that a woman can take 38 weeks to decide if she wants a baby or not, and I hope it forever stays that way.

In my opinion all countries should be more like Canada and I am lobbying for laws that restrict abortion to be abolished.

They are unnecessary and a hangover from the bad old days of patriarchy.

It's so easy for women to get an abortion in Britain, that most people assume we have abortion on demand at any time, but that is not the case.

Abortion is a hang over from patriarchy.

There are only a small portion of women who choose abortion because they don't want to suffer the physical affects of being pregnant or giving birth. Thise women should be fighting for sterilization rights, not abortion rights.

The remainder of women choose abortion because of misogyny.

The patriarchy told women it was shameful to have sex before marriage, and pregnancy was evidence of their shame. So they choose abortion for fear of persecution by the patriarchy. Meanwhile men could have sex before marriage without fear of persecution.

The patriarchy has told women they cant fulfil their role in reproduction and still maintain their lifestyle, however men can. Women were told to be treated equally to men they had to give up what made them women, and sadly women have accepted this condition. Meanwhile men can ejaculate and still maintain their jobs, education and lifestyle.

The patriarchy pressures women into pleasing their partners by allowing them not to use condoms. Women are being manipulated into invasive procedures that destroy the life inside them because men want sex to feel better. Other women are being lied to by men when they say the condom didn't break. And other women are being shamed out of seeking plan B because of the patriarchy.

The majority or abortions are done for misogynistic reasons, not feminist reasons. I still find it amusing when feminists claim you must be "pro choice" to be part of their club.

The opposite of pro-choice is anti-choice. You are against allowing women the right to make their own reproductive choices and trumping up reasons why that's a good thing to do.

But the reason women want that choice is because they have accepted misogyny.

Women have said "well if i cant serve my reproductive purpose and still have my lifestyle, like men do, can i deny my natural reproductive purpose", and the patriarchy has said "yes, if you want to be equal, you must deny what separates you from men". And women have gone "yes, sir. Thankyou, sir"

    No it isn't.

Actually, women fought for those rights.

The reason women want choice is because they are human beings with human rights and don't want to be controlled by you or any other misogynist....

    - - - Updated - - -

Sad you have never been around or have ever known intelligent women who can think for themselves so now you think there aren't any......you obviously had no good role model....

Your personal history has nothing to do with other women and their chices or their rights.

And, as with most Anti-Choicers you can't answer:

If abortion were illegal? How would you prove one happened?

Well, lots of whining, fantasy, off topic crap and idiocy from the Anti-Choicers but again, NO ANSWERS to the OP.

That's something you can't say. Incidents could occur where someone did suspect something. It would be situation dependent like any other crime.

The same thing could be said about reporting anyone suspected of a crime. Should we cease in reporting crimes or dispensing justice simply to avoid inconvenience?

To hold criminals responsible for their crimes?

Criminals trying to hide their work? Huh...that's something new. Why have any criminal laws at all?! People can just hide the evidence or the knowledge of its occurrence. There's no reason to criminalize anything.

At some point, doesn't this kind of "logic" approach that of the homophobe who says "Gays want equal rights because they have accepted the false idea that they are normal like the rest of us."???
