~ China owns a lot of things in other countries. However as their liability due to negligence in dealing with the virus becomes an issue China may end up in debt to many countries.

China should. Not because of a virus, but because even now they are not cooperating with world health organizations.

No, my world is the world. The whole wide world. Your little world is dictated by the CIA ... the same world where fake WMD's are being hoarded by the thousands in the open desert, in secret laboratories, and under every bed - and the only proof you require to be convinced of anything is if the colour is red. - and where Fascism goes by the name of pseudo-democracy. Here's your tomato ... :boo:

yep, and I posted so at the time that I supported Trump on the ban

it's ok for the parties to agree on some things and not others

I also think trusting India to handle all America's information infrastructure is a national security risk

but Trump changes his mind from day to day, so who knows

"Trump says Huawei could be part of trade deal"

    https://www.bbc.com/news/business-48392021

"US President Donald Trump has said Huawei could be part of a trade deal between the US and China, despite branding the telecoms firm "very dangerous"."

My question to you is why you think "... China selling us 5g equipment ... " is dangerous to " USA due to national security" in the first place? Who told you it would be a national security issue?

~ Yes indeed ... that was one year ago. I have not heard a peep from the president about his "good relationship with President Xi " since the China virus. This week he remarked that he was "not interested in talking with Xi". He also extended restrictions on Huawei .
Interesting days ahead . Could get scary ...

Hello:cowboy:! You do understand the notion of "negotiation", right? You have heard of bartering, yes? You do realize that what is good today might not be good tomorrow, right? I don't know about you ... but me, I don't put any faith in someone who makes a stance and sticks by it "no matter what". If you want to fault Trump that's OK with me. But if you would prefer for me to agree with you over a specific issue then you are not convincing me on the grounds of "He changed his mind".

So Aussie participation fighting evil with :flagus: in Vietnam
    doesn't count?

In total approximately 60,000 Australians—ground troops, air-force and naval personnel—served in Vietnam between 1962 and 1972. 521 died as a result of the war and over 3,000 were wounded.

    How many :flagcanada:s ?

saying something is a national security risk today and not tomorrow, your saying Trump was just saying China supplying 5g was a national security risk was about negotiation, was not what Trump really thought?

China supplying our 5g infrastructure *is* a national security risk
India managing all our IT information infrastructure *is* a national security risk

but the corps donate to the politicians, and they want cheap labor, so politicians will find a reason to allow it...

I understand everything you are saying but you are just guessing about it being a "security risk". Seriously, unless you personally know all of the ins and outs you can only judge by what others might have said. Politics and the media are very dirty enterprises and, in the end, I am quite certain that the president (as a mouthpiece for the deep state) is going to do exactly as he his told. Claiming "national security risk" is just another way of saying "it's classified information" but putting it in a suit that we can better relate to and which makes us feel it is in our best interest. As far as saying "danger" one day and "no problem" the next day it's just the same "WMD!" today and "I never suggested WMD's!" tomorrow. We are all caught between a rock (the government) and a hard place (the media).

No doubt about that but I do not believe it is at the cost of the nation's existence. There is the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer but without any balance, there will be no cow to milk and the rich will become destitute. It ain't gonna' happen.

Mostly true but it doesn't matter whether we outsource to Vietnam or Bolivia. Neither of those countries are enemies of the U.S. It doesn't have to be China and shouldn't be. All federal government has to do is stop imports from China. The businesses will adapt.

China is not your enemy either so what is it you are saying?

This is true of anything: The Black Plague, the stock market crash, the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki ..... but what is your point? "The business" has chosen to barter with China and you can be 100% certain that it is for a very good reason.

I am saying that China is my enemy and yours.

A good business reason to be sure but not a good "America first" reason.

China never claimed to be my enemy or yours. The citizens of my country know this … apparently the citizens of your country are too busy scurrying about worrying that the whole world is “anti-American” and thinking “you’re either with us or against us!” If you think China is your enemy then it’s all in your head. I’ll bet the Chinese don’t think of you as their enemy.

I don’t know when businessmen stopped concerning themselves over the well-being of their own countrymen. THAT is the enemy ... yours and mine.

I didn't say China claimed to be my enemy. I view them as an enemy. I believe that despite what you or the Chinese believe. If you can't see it, I can't help you.

~ The Chinese Communist Party ( CCP ) is indeed an enemy to peace and freedom. The average Chinese citizen is a victim .

Once our 'allies' realize just how economically devastating this simultaneous world wide crash halt of the world's economy is going to be then a great deal of old 'standards' are going to be tossed out of the playbook to be replaced by reality-minded, cold, hard practicality. Politically Correct will become an amusing aspect of ancient history and it will be replaced by "let's make a mutually beneficial deal and to HELL with your attitude regarding the mating habits of gay transgendered tree frogs -- or whatever the latest leftist 'sticking point' to intelligent decision making may be."
