    When I speak of China I speak of the Chinese government. I hate to waste the time explaining what I mean so I assume people fill in that blank for themselves.

    ~ I think most people realize this. If not they are out of the loop.

    If all it results in is less dependence upon Ch!na, that's still a massive win. We're ALL far too dependent on their cheaply made dross.

    Bring home the manufacturing and food production!

    They tried, but the brakes were being lightly pressed in past couple of years. Pressing even harder now.

    That's good to know.

    Therein lies your problem.

    Many people suffer from varying degrees of paranoia and "getting help" (as you say) is definitely recommended.

    And what exactly are those "actions" that you feel are the initiating fundamentals to you thinking they want to be your enemy - the fact that they print their labels in English, or that they print European sizes first and U.S. sizes second?

    China receives most of our exports because they have a comparative advantage in labour due to their trash labour laws.

    We can either withdraw trade, or somehow get them to up their standards so we can compete. Or continue with the status quo.

    To be honest I think if we desire peace we should prepare for war. China is no dove.

    Our enemy in what way ? So should we stop trading with China ? --- decide to not play in the largest economy in the world in terms of purchasing power (as of 2013). OK - I will bite - what does that look like and how is America being put first ?

    Yes, we should stop trading with China. It looks like some other country that is not actively hurting the U.S. will get more business. How would America be put first. We would escape from the most serious enemy our country faces.

    What do you mean "escape" ? this makes no sense. We are competing with China for global economic share - running and hiding is not going to help that effort much.

    Sure others will get some of our business - but others will get a similar amount of business from China.

    I am with you on the need to out compete China somehow - what I don't see is how blocking ourselves out of 25% of the world market advances towards this goal - and this is certainly not what the Trump Administration is proposing.

    China buys a whole lot of stuff - and will buy even more in the future. I am sure that Elon Musk would not be happy not being able to sell Tesla's into the largest car market - and the largest EV market. Oil companies will not be happy about not being able to sell into the biggest oil market - by far. Farmers not happy about not being able to sell into the biggest food market.

    In any case - if we were to go down that path - we would need a whole lot of other nations to be on our side. Trump has been doing near everything in his power to alienate the other nations of the world - and put them against us. Not good for Plan A.

    You don't see the Chinese threat so there is no point in continuing.

    We don't need to collapse it. We just need to get away from it.

    Now what are you talking about - making stuff up and attributing it to me. I stated that China is a threat in my post ?

    What I don't see is how your plan to counter that threat will achieve the goal - this is what is missing from the equation,.

    No I said you don't see the Chinese threat.

    My goal is to separate ourselves economically and politically from China. I have no idea what your goal is.

    You are projecting - it is you that does not see the threat from China - and I have stated what the goal is - being able to compete in the global economy - increase our short term and long term economic security.

    You have not stated what this threat you are trying to combat is ? - only suggested that refusing to play in 25% of the world economy will address that threat... never said how ... over even mentioned what the threat you are trying to combat is.

    China is working to take the U.S. down and replace it as the super power. They steal from us. They wiggle their currency, They corrupt our politicians. They even send us diseases. Perhaps you just need to read the news. We can compete with anything and anybody with or without China. Why do you support our greatest enemy?

    More than 110 countries have backed Australia's push for an independent coronavirus inquiry which has caused a damaging rift with Lying Outlaw China.

    The African Group's 54 member states will co-sponsor the motion, joining 62 other countries including Russia, Indonesia, India, Japan, Britain and Canada.

    The European Union's 27 members are all on board, along with Brazil, South Korea, Mexico, Turkey and New Zealand.

    Prime Minister Scott Morrison has described the push for an inquiry into the origins of coronavirus as completely unremarkable.

    Beijing's man in Canberra raised the prospect of consumer boycotts of Australian products because of the push for an inquiry.

    Since then, the barley threat has surfaced, while four major Australian abattoirs have been blocked from sending their product to Lying Outlaw China.

    I doubt very much that you don't know what those actions are - various unfair trade practices, stealing intellectual property, hacking American companies, ongoing anti-American propaganda campaign, supporting NK, building military bases in the South China sea that is not their territory, and spreading their power and influence around the world like a plague of rats. That along with their appalling human rights record at home no one should be foolish enough to believe they are a friendly nation to anyone let alone the USA.

    How many of those from your own list can you point out that the U.S. hasn't been playing:

    * unfair trade practices
    * stealing intellectual property
    * hacking Chinese companies
    * ongoing anti-China propaganda campaign
    * supporting Taiwan and South Korea
    * building military bases in Europe and Asia that is not their territory
    * spreading their power and influence around the world like a plague of rats
    * their appalling human rights record at home

    I've highlighted those that I think are obvious. Remember that we are talking about making oneself an "enemy" so you'll have to find a whole lot that is not true of the U.S. in the above list if you want the U.S. to seem like the victim.

    Show where I have supported China ?

    You are rambling mindless gibberish because you can't explain how your plain to shut us out of 25% of the world market is going to help stop China from replacing us as an economic superpower.

    We are in no danger of being replaced by China as a Military Super Power.

    Disagree on what - that China will replace the US as a Military superpower ? I didn't even realize you talking about both military and economic until now .

    How do you figure China is going to replace the US as a Military Superpower - given that the US has enough nukes to wipe China off the map - multiple times ?

    Has China figured out a way to disable our nukes ?
