Not a matter of luck. When China says Taiwan is subject to Chinese law (likely in less than 2 decades), the US will have to accept it....at which time the US veto will be useless.

Over to you, to explain how instinct DOES work.

No, I want general awareness of how instinct affects ideology.

Yes I know... Neanderthal instincts impel the 2nd amendment...no surprises there..

Hey stop looking for faults in the other guy, and deal with your own issues first. Interestingly, when you look around the globe today, it's the "democratic" world which is in chaos.

    Be my guest.

Apples and oranges - above, you aren't talking about the UN or the UNSC.
The US are more than capable of denying Taiwan to China - the only question is if they will choose to do so.

    We’re a republic.
Socialism is for the weak and stupid. Being a democracy btw, has nothing to do with whatever version of chaos you’re worried about. Have you lived in a socialist country?

Biden is advocating for more gun-control in response to the recent mass shooting in Boulder, Colorado:

"We can ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines in this country once again. I got that done when I was a senator. It passed. It was law for the longest time, and it brought down these mass killings. We should do it again.

"We can close the loopholes in our background check system, including the 'Charleston loophole.' That’s one of the best tools we have right now to prevent gun violence. The Senate should immediately pass — let me say it again: The United States Senate — I hope some are listening — should immediately pass the two House-passed bills that close loopholes in the background check system. These are bills that received votes of both Republicans and Democrats in the House. This is not and should not be a partisan issue; this is an American issue. It will save lives — American lives — and we have to act. We should also ban assault weapons in the process."

You let Biden lie to you like that? Wow.
    Egads - another lie?
Why aren't you screaming at him?

Oh... wait.... it's OK for Democrats to lie as a means to get what they want.
    Nevermind.

The US is capable today, yes; in 2 decades time, no.

The point is our neanderthal instincts must be:
    1. recognized and understood;
    2. managed on behalf of community well-being, requiring, inter alia, disposing of the delusional "sovereignty of the (neanderthal) individual" ideology. And of course, recognizing the limits of MAD.....

and one which more and more people have characterized as a failed state...topped off by riots and a security fence around the Capitol itself.....

Your delusional "sovereignty of the individual" ideology is based on neanderthal instincts which are present in all of us but not recognized or understood by Conservatives.

I'm concerned about the ongoing slaughter of children in proxy wars eg in Yemen, funded by Trump in his money-grubbing criminal mode, selling arms to the Saudis.

Could have stopped that maggot from killing those people if only more people are armed and ready to defend themselves. Makes me rethink my carry weapons and I think I’ll add one with a little more fire power. Never know when I’ll run into a nut case that needs to get shot.
Remember guys and gals.......always carry, you never know when you will need it.

Such is the outcome of your reading of the 2nd amendment.

"Is that a gun in your pocket, or are you pleased..... "

    (Sorry, couldn't resist...)

Carrying a loaded gun in a crowded supermarket doesn't sound all that safe....

Meanwhile: "The United States Senate — I hope some are listening — should immediately pass the two House-passed bills that close loopholes in the background check system. These are bills that received votes of both Republicans and Democrats in the House."

You of course insist on your own reading of the 2nd amendment...based on a delusional ideology of sovereignty of the (neanderthal, blind instinct-driven) "free" individual.

the people calling us a “failed state” can just stay wherever they are. No one cares about their opinions.
Call and tell us how great socialism is, I’m going to presume you don’t live in a westernized country, yes?

Failed state? Who’s calling us a failed state? I haven’t heard this from anyone tho I could expect to hear it from the obamas, Rashida Talib, Ilhan, AOC, Pelousy, Chuckie and other libs. To them it’s failed simply cause we are not socialist yet. Well, highly socialist yet.

Failed state. Let’s see who the Europeans call when Putin masses groups along the border. Are they gonna call Canada? Venezuela? India? Wait wait, I know Cuba. Cuba will save them, Cuba and Venezuela together will save them because they are not failed states like the USofA.

    remember: always keep one chambered.

    Demonstrate this to be true
Through force. Like a neanderthal, you plan to beat down those that disagree with you.
Thank you for again demonstrating the validity of the 2nd Amendment.

And yet, thousands of people do it, daily, w/o incident.

Someone lied to you about there being a loophole in the law, and you bought it.

....as well as the Dems and Repubs in the House of Reps. You might try explaining why background checks are sufficient at present, when 2 nut jobs have murdered 16 people using guns, in the last fortnight.

    Facts remains:
It is impossible to legally avoid the background checks specified by federal law - and thus, there is no loophole on said law.
You were lied to. And you like it.
Ah. You don't understand that someone is only stopped by a background check if the are legally disqualified from owning a gun.
    Now you do.

Proving gun ownership should be enabled by government-issued licence only.

Because anyone can walk into the store and buy a gun.

"In the US, rifles or shotguns may be purchased by anyone over the age of 18, and handguns by anyone over the age of 21, provided they meet the following federal regulations: The buyer must be a current citizen of the United States or a permanent resident (green card holder)."

Should be by annual license renewal only.

Biden calls for "COMMON SENSE" gun laws

Yes, and lately I've heard a Republican politician or two call for "COMMON SENSE ELECTION LAWS".

Any use of a "catch phrase", or a Party Purity Tested Narrative, instantly convinces me the politician in question has no clue and is simply tossing out accepted dogma of his or her faction. Democrat, Republican, other, makes no difference.

The state has no standing to issue a license for the exercise of a right, because rights do not come from the a state.
