"Something terrific" that covers "everybody!" were examples of your messiah's sarcasm?

    O, wow,
    naïve I!

I had assumed it was just another Trump® U-type false promise.

Anyone who can't honestly confront current realities can always seek refuge in bygone days and recast them to fit their fancies, of course.

Republicans have always been in opposition to healthcare reform. Healing the poor and sick has never been a priority, ironically, to the party of christian values. It's also important to note that the democrats did not hold full control of the government when Hillary tried health care reform, so it was defeated. That's our democracy working as intended, and republicans failing to help the American people as usual.

Trump's failure, especially with his party in full control of the government, is substantial. Up until Friday, drump was able to bully and bulldoze his opposition. If he can't even garner respect and loyalty from his own party, what does it say about his leadership? His lack of leadership is a main reason that he cannot even pass a single law to replace the ACA which his party has been crying about for 7 years. Ironically, president lardass was propped up by his frothing supporters as a deal maker who could get things done. His failure to make a deal with even his own party shows that once again, people like you were duped.

What we've also seen is that while republicans were whining the last 7 years, they did little to actually put a plan together that would benefit Americans. I'll say that again, republicans had 7 years and over 60 repeal attempts to craft legislation, and they failed as well. It makes you wonder if they ever thought about being constructive rather than destructive. It's easier to train a soldier than it is an engineer.

The one bright spot of republicans holding power is that they are demonstrating to the world that they are impotent, incompetent, and ignorant. Democrats don't even have to oppose when the republicans are acting like children who cannot even agree with each other. It truly is a case of the barking dog finally catching a car and not knowing what to do. This is the government you wanted, and you're getting the incompetent government you deserve. All we can do is hope the republicans don't damage too many of our institutions so the democrats can come in and clean up after republicans like they have always done.

Let me stop you there and explain to you the true "win".

    We didn't get Hillary Clinton.

    Yea, that's the win.

That's the win that all other wins and losses are measured against.

No matter what Trump does, no matter how butt-hurt Lefties get, no matter how much obstruction comes from Congress, we still won the ultimate win.

Hillary ****ing Clinton is not President.

    WIN

Again, I understand your need to feel as if you won. You've grown tired of being told that racism, misogyny, and bigotry are wrong. Trump's election made you feel as if you were unshackled from all those conventions. After all, it takes some time and some humility to admit you've been conned. As trump breaks more promises and proves to be an ineffectual, impotent leader, perhaps you'll realize you've been had. Although, it took a detachment from reality to actually cast your vote for this man, so perhaps not. Please continue to tell me how much you've won after every legislative failure and embarrassment trump puts this country through.

In the absence of any truly important act of governance, all you have is the sentiment that you "won." Trump apologists need something to hang their hat on.

Well, it's clear that the republicans don't even care about other republicans' opinions. The evidence is their failure to pass an alternative to a law they all agreed needed to be replaced. How much impotence and incompetence are you going to willingly swallow on your knees before you realize you've been had?

There is one critical flaw in the "repeal and replace" mantra that we've been hearing for years now. It's the word "replace". The word doesn't need to be there. For a majority of Americans 2008 was a more affordable year for healthcare than 2017. So just getting back to 2008 would be a step forward, and then we could go about making things better than they were in 2008 as well, by adopting some common sense things that put the consumer back in charge of their own health care and their own health insurance; managed in large part by the states, according to each state's particular needs; and not by the federal government.

If it wasn't for Paul Ryan, we probably could have gotten a bill that accomplished most of that, but Ryan's refusal to work with the conservatives in his own party cost him the vote, and cost the nation as well. Ryan's failure has left us again with the grotesquely failed ObamaCare debacle. Ryan's failure is as grotesque a failure as the one that gave us ObamaCare in the first place.

Lastly, all the Republicans needed to do was to repeal the individual and corporate mandates. That alone would have ushered in a huge sigh of relief all across the nation. What an incredible lost opportunity this was.

The real story of how Obama care became law. 1)don't let them find out what's in the law until it passes (Pelosi) 2)Lie to the American people about what the plan will do (WashPost awards biggest pinocchio of year) 3) bribes (long list, see links)

So, you are telling me to accept that from the Atlantic vs what i saw with my own eyes on CSPAN?

    This was the pattern

Democrats amendment proposed. Democrats to a man or woman voted yes
Republicans amendment proposed. Democrats to a man or woman voted no.

Same thing happened during the Dodd Frank law creation. That effin nightmare.

And of course that nonsense wipes any credibilty to the remainder of your post.

And that fallacious statement is just piling on. Democrats held the Senate 57-43 and the House 258-76. All she had to do was get 3 Republican Senator to vote for cloture but the fact is could not even get enough Democrats to vote for it to pass it.

Picture the Keystone Cops, after fifty-four ineffectual attempts to beat the crap out of their nemesis, finally gathering outside a cell from which there's no escape.

All 247, chompin’ at the bit, billie clubs at the ready, charge into the cell amidst blood-curdling battle cries.

    Sounds of pandemonium ensue.

    Then silence.

They all come staggering out, bruised, battered, bedraggled, and blaming one another.

I thought we elected the GOP to fix things
I thought we elected a team that was in favor of personal responsibility
I thought we were gonna get tired of winning

The dead horse being beat here is that serial bankrupt artist is a deal maker. He's just proven to the entire world he's an impotent (in more than one respect I think), incompetent blowhard who has no business in the white house.

I know you're embarrassed and feel foolish that you were duped by this idiot. Perhaps one day you'll man up and accept it.

Ah yes, the good old days of 08. Pre existing condition? Screw you, go bankrupt and die. Can't get health insurance? Screw you and die. Life threatening accident regardless of fault? Screw you and die. Need contraception because you can't afford a child? Screw you and die.

    Ahhhh, the good old days.

Clearly the republicans have proven to be better and whining about things than actually fixing them. If there was one silver lining in trump's election, it was that the republicans were going to prove to the world that they were incapable of actual governance.

    In general I agree
Although I also feel that it can be a good thing to try new approaches and see if there is a better way

I am open to try republican ideas and fixes
But gosh almighty, that does not include the current plan to let the healthcare system collapse.

Either fix the current plan, or pass something better

    Btw
Does anyone know how the gop plan was going to be "better"

Trump supporters have become uncharacteristically silent after Trump's EPIC FAIL on Healthcare.

Even the usual deflection to "But Obama/But Clinton/Fake News" has been sure surprisingly muted (as of late).

Though, it has been used occasionally by the terminally unimaginative.

Actually we got tired of Leftists crying "racist" "misogyny" and "bigotry" simply because they a pack of butt-hurt babies who were pissed about not getting their way.

Racism, give me a ****ing break.

The strongest most prevalent form of racism alive today is anti-White racism. Its perpetuated by the Left at every single turn from endorsing/defending anti-White racism in minorities to agendas that inundate the nation with non-Whites knowing full well they will overbreed and replace the White majority within a few decades.

Misogyny, give me a ****ing break.

Leftists cuck themselves for Allah and what is Islam known the world over for? The contempt and ingrained prejudice against women which leads to their mistreatment on a human rights crisis level.

Bigotry, give me one huge mother ****ing break, cup, if you please.

Bigotry means intolerance for people who have different opinions. LIBERALISM is a literal synonym for bigot. This forum, hell the entire internet, contains hundreds of thousands of terabytes of data demonstrating Leftist bigotry. The American Left invented the word bigot. If I were needing to explain what the word "bigotry" meant I could reference quite literally anything any Leftists politician or voter has ever said.

The American Left is a plague and one day it will be made to answer for itself, one way or another.
