Why just home defense? Why not for every legal purpose listed in the Gun Control Act of 1968? Given the number of times you've been told that registration is necessary for UBCs to work, and that you still support UBCs, you have to either support registration or you suffer from levels of cognitive dissonance not seen since the dearly departed VG.

It could be a hour drive each way. It could be $50. It could be multi-hour waits for the background check to be completed.

    It's still not enforceable.

exactly-French knights owned crossbows. Samurai owned Katana swords. Both groups killed commoners who were in possession of such weapons. any anti gun RIGHTS activists deny gun rights for others.

It makes sure I'm not a wanted killer trying to buy a gun.

If we believe the majority opinion writers in Friedman, making the public feel safer is a good thing, regardless of actual efficacy. Security theater is everything.

What if you are a wanted killer trying to be a gun, and you get caught? Then what? You have a 0.02% of being convicted.

Some very narrow minded people gang up and attack one member for being a gun owner who supports reasonable restrictions on guns. Sometimes this forum seems so ridiculous.

The Department of Justice reported that universal background checks are ineffective with registration. Without that registration, they cannot be enforced. It's ridiculous to think that ineffective, unenforceable laws are "reasonable restrictions".

    several misleading statements there

"reasonable restrictions" to reasonable people aren't the things you and Ron want
he claims to be a gun owner-so what, the biggest gun banners in office have guns
Gang up? when someone trolls a thread its expected those being trolled will be less than hospitable

    Guns are regulated.

We regulate who can buy them.

    This is a good thing.

Plastic homemade "printed" guns are not regulatable.

    This is a bad thing.

Robert's your uncle, Fanny's your aunt, plastic homemade "printed" guns are a problem.

that's really contrary to known fact. There are lots of guns I wouldn't own or use. You seem to love laws that harass gun owners.

I bet Turtledude doesn't have a zip gun. Do you even know what a zip gun is?

20 dollars at a Home Depot and a shotgun shell and within an hour using nothing more than a hacksaw and a drill anyone can make a "zip gun."

Yep, the NRA, they would contend, teaches firearms self defense using silhouettes which trains shooters to deny criminals due process.

I carry a 9mm which is only medium caliber, so if I ever use it in self defense the dead perp with get due process, and that makes me feel better.

In that situation, due process is a free burial by the State

Idiotic post. Criminals can already get firearms outside the legal system, they don't need a 3D printer. Criminals aren't going to bother to get a 3D printer, learn how to use it, make a few trial firearms to make sure its working, then crank out guns - they are not that stupid, they will just go to the nearest alley and buy whatever they want.

    Same for amateur terrorists.

Real terrorists, as in people in a real organization, already have the resources they need. They don't need a 3D printer, they get the real tried and true firearms and explosives.

Take your gun banner BS and go home.
