Last September, President Trump ordered an end to DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), the Obama-era program that shields young undocumented immigrants from deportation, urging Congress to pass a replacement before he begins phasing out its protections in six months."

The program offered no resolution for the so called dreamers other than the "deferred action" provided in the Obama executive action. The Congress needs to act one way or the other to take these people out of the limbo DACA has created for them.

A pathway to citizenship would be politically unpopular and sending the dreamers back would be morally wrong; so Congressional Republicans have decided to ignore dreamers all together in the hope the issue will go away while Congressional Democrats want to use the issue for political purposes with apparently no intensions of ever resolving the issue.

When President Trump issued his proclamation, Congressional Democrats and the fake news immediately started using the crisis as a club against Trump, with neither one group offering any resolution for the dreamers.

President Trump continues to reach out to Congressional Democrats in the hope a compromise can be reached where he gets his wall and the dreamers gain a pathway to citizenship. So far, the Democrats have refused to deal.

The fake news continues to lie and misdirect the electorate in their never ending support for inaction for the dreamers - if the situation were to go away, they might lose subscriptions and ad revenue.

Meanwhile, the illegal alien problem continues to fester as Congress does nothing.

There already is a pathway to citizenship, and always has been.

They simply didnt bother even trying to become a citizen.

They need to get in line with the rest of the people.

I can’t agree entirely. I wouldn’t mind seeing them go through the naturalization process. The issue I have is that the process can take up to a decade. Will they be deported while their application is being considered? If they’re going to be allowed to become full citizens at the end of the process anyway, who does deportation really serve?

The point of the application process is to weed out undesirable applicants and protect our country. But these people live here. They’re known quantities. We aren’t as worried about them as we would be with an applicant with no previous history with the US.

I think there should be some sort of accelerated naturalization process for the dreamers that allows them to stay here until it ends one way or another.

Perhaps they should have thought about these things while they lived in the country for 20+ years.

psst there really was a path to citizenship back then, just like there is today.

Dems have raised many million$ for illegal aliens legal defense funds in sanctuary cities across the country. It only took a few months to fund and establish a network of immigration lawyers. Why didn't Dems provide lawyers and fees to DREAMers to secure citizenship? The Dems couldn't be more phony.

You’re too angry to be taken seriously. We invited them here. We must bear some responsibility for that.

There’s also the fact that these people are better candidates for full citizenship than any group of immigrants.

But you don’t care about any of that. Your back is up and you don’t care about what the best outcome is. You just want them ejected so you can feel vindicated.

Nope, every single sentence is completely false.

No one invited them here. No one invited their parents here.

Theyre actually worse than all the immigrants who are already in line doing their best to follow the law.

If the border is secured with a freakn wall, Id be fine allowing these kids to stay until they gain citizenship.

If democrats arent willing to prevent it from happening again, I dont see why anyone should allow them to stay.

Than the illegal aliens you love more than your fellow citizens are gonna have to go.

I wish youd be reasonable, but apparently, thats too much to ask.

If reasonable includes acting on the most embarrassingly stupid idea conceived by humans in the last hundred years then yeah I’m going to be unreasonable.

    Correct.

They could have been citizens already had they chosen to start the process but they didn't so ask yourself if lazy people like this are ones we really want in this nation.

    I don't think so.

trump reaching out to democrats is fake news. His message to the democrats is "I propose, you accept". Hardly reaching out at all.

To the bold, it's obvious you're too biased to be taken seriously.

    Nobody invited illegal aliens here.

I think one of the major problems with the issue is the fact nobody is willing to discuss the full details.

For every "DACA qualified" individual, there is at least one or two illegal alien parents. Rewarding DACA qualified also means to reward DACA parent(s).

If the number of DACA qualified is the 1.8 million the President referenced, there is at least that many behind them.

Amnesty in 1986 effected an estimated 3 million. A DACA solution alone will involve more than that number, and there doesn't appear to be any ramifications for this illegal activity.

That is a major stumbling block IMO.

The complicated issue of illegal immigration can’t be solved by building a wall. I know lots of conservatives don’t agree, but those illegal immigrants are human. They will find a way around over or under that wall. There isn’t a wall that can be built that can’t be circumvented, especially if it’s two thousand miles long.

Trump is pretending that if we build the wall the problem will be solved. It wont be. It won’t even dent the problem. We will solve nothing and have this massive man made structure to man and maintain at an enormous cost.

So it’s not dramatic to say how dumb the idea is. It’s so ****ing dumb.

90% of illegal immigration can be solved with a wall.

If youre not really interested in solving the problem, you cant be taken seriously.

I am really interested in solving the problem which is why I oppose the wall.

And what’s your source for that 90 percent figure? Sounds like bullshit since there’s no way to actually gauge the effectiveness of a wall that doesn’t even have a finalized design yet.

No one invited the Germans back in the early 1800's, the Irish in the mid 1800's or the Italians at the turn of the century. America left the porch light on for the hungry mosquito's of the wretched refuse (which their former countries felt they were) of other countries and we let them in; why not allow them the same conditions of entry as others were allowed 200 years ago?

His solution is nothing more then a knee-jerk reaction. Putting up a wall will never stop a determined people from getting into the country no matter what made-up figures he comes up with.
