Oh really? If that is true that is wrong. Could you please provide some evidence to support your claim?

Should be against the law, but guess what... it's not. However, one is free to leave and find another job. Is this a great country, or what? :flagus:

Its not a matter of left or right. Its a matter of it should not be permitted period. If this type of behavior is going to be allowed, then there is no democracy, rather a corporatocracy.

So the point is that it should be against the law.

I suppose the question is do we want to have a system in which people like the Koch brothers are kings with the power to shape political views because they have economic leverage over their employees?

My boss is me because I am retired. My previous boss is a highly educated woman who is very intelligent and knows it is not appropriate to discuss politics at work. She didn't and wouldn't do it at any work related social event either. Intelligent people know that you don't discuss politics at work; it's the same type of thing as demanding that someone tell you who they voted for: shows ignorance and disrespect. And my boss would never, ever, and neither would I, use such a term as 'butthurt.' Too much class.

Well not all bosses are that way. Not only that, but not all employees in a company are that way. What if you have a group of employees that will gang up on someone because they don't share their political views? Should that be legal?

But it's not. Sane folks deal with reality.

But it should be. Sane folks don't want democracy to disintegrate into a corporatocracy.

Of course not. And your questions are very tiresome. Can't imagine why you are directing them at me. Did I say something that set you off?

If you are having problems at work related to this issue, please go talk to the personnel manager.

Political opinions are NOT a protected class. My state is a right to work state, and with that means an employer can fire anyone, anytime, at will. That being said, it's bad policy to discuss politics at work. Employers are there to make money, it's simply not in their best interests.

If you find them tiresome then don't respond. You chose to make your views known in a public forum. I will make it known what I think about them if I so desire.

I suppose the question is whether or not employers should be allowed by law to discriminate against employees based on their political views. My opinion is that it should be against the law. If such behavior is allowed, then what you will have is a corporatocracy in which CEOs dictate the political views of their employees.

I know what you are saying. I agree it's bad policy. But it's not illegal, like sex, religion, or racial discrimination.

OK. At least you understand the point. All I am saying is that it should not be legal. People like the Koch brothers or Mark Zuckerberg should not be able to dictate to their employees what their political views should be.

    LOL @ freak flags!

Any rate, I would say that Google should not be allowed to discriminate against employees who don't believe that such behavior is acceptable, AS LONG AS THOSE EMPLOYEES DO NOT DISCRIMINATE AGAINST THOSE EMPLOYEES BECAUSE OF THEIR VIEWS.

The thing is this, people depend upon their employers for money so that they can survive. As such there is a considerable amount of imbalance when it comes to power between an employer and an employee. If employers can dictate political views to their employees, then you might as well get rid of the idea of democracy, and only give suffrage to CEOs. Then they could be free to enact legislation to their choosing. Who knows, they could even decide to make it such that it is legal for an employer to demand sex from an employee as a condition of their employment. Hell they could take your wife and it would not be anything you could do about it. Might as well crown them kings.

The simple solution is have no social media fingerprint and just nod agreeing with the boss and vote as you wish, you slap your crap all over social media your going to have issues, I have a Facebook account I use for games and post on things like geek issues I didn't talk about anything that could be controversial until I went on SSI and it was renewed so am never going to work again.
