Actually, it does. Regardless of guilt or innocence, you do not provide information that can and will be used against you regardless of actual guilt. Why is that so hard to understand? You do understand the Miranda Warning, right? It's phrased that way for a reason.

Geez, these guys are inventing all kinds of ridiculous scenarios to try and excuse taking the 5th to avoid self incrimination

"Imagine you are flying to Mars on Jeff Bezos' spaceship.... Letitia James is onboard and thinks you might have stirred the oxygen tanks too early........."

It's fun to read, if completely devoid of context to the situation at hand...

It would be great for you and your MAGA friends if it were that easy.

The problem is that Eric Trump is being questioned in a lawsuit that also involves his infamous father.

And if he pleaded the 5th.... 500 times, that means the prosecutor is going in the right direction.

But don't worry, no one will ever stop you from practicing your Trump worship.

    LoL.

For my part, their intellectual contortions amuse me so much.

It is an endless pleasure to watch them defend - so creatively - the most indefensible politician of the modern era.

Repeating a false statement does not make it true. Invoking the 5th does not infer guilt and is for innocent people too. Otherwise, it serves no purpose.

LOL... of course it serves a purpose... it means the state has to be able to convict a criminal without the assistance of that criminal...

Makes it harder... doesn't make it impossible...

And it DOES infer negatively in civil matters... which this still is...

Ahh yes, dems have nothing at all and so irrationally take pleading the 5th as an inherent sign of guilt, which it is not.

do t worry you got him this time!

Why wasn’t he tried for it then? I don’t remember the Trump IRS politically going after anyone.

I also was not aware of the Trump FBI going after anyone politically either. But I also would agree that this would be wrong.

Did he go to the FBI with false information to obtain a FISA warrant?

Hillary turned it over to the FBI, what she is supposed to do

Trump hid the Trump tower meeting from the FBI like he is NOT supposed to do

This is the smartest course of action when faced with a weaponized partisan justice system.

Depends on the context. In a witch-hunt or perjury trap, you obviously would not to help your persecutors.

Sometime the charges are too ridiculous to dignify with a response.

No, you are not for the constitution if you don't give everyone a presumption of innocence. You are not for the constitution making comments like that before the defendant is proved guilty beyond reasonable doubt. (It's not always a defendant invoking the 5th, btw -- sometimes it's just a witness who doesn't want to be cross-examined about something personally embarrassing).

Lol...all this nervous whistling past the graveyard ain't cutting the mustard, friend.
It's obvious to anyone with a shred of intelligence that taking the 5th 500 times in one deposition is proof of being guilty as sin.

Obamas IRS was under investigation for targeting conservatives. When they were in for questioning all they done was plead the 5th.

if you want me to find an article about her pleading the 5th I will as well. But this is an article about the scandal

    https://www.npr.org/2017/10/27/5603...or-aggressive-scrutiny-of-conservative-groups

My point is really that just cause someone pleads the 5th doesn’t make them guilty. There never any charges brought out of this but there was plenty of people pleading the 5th
