Not this type of surge. And where are they going after they 'turn themselves in?'

    It's not home.

Trump wants a solution that politics can't de-fund when the next democrat comes in. Once a wall is there, it's there.

It's the highest in 10 yrs, but not the worst.
So, something changed in the 10 yrs.
Where they are leaving is also not home, else they wouldn't be leaving.

Hopefully there will be 12 that see vigilantism as dangerous.

Vigilantes are commonly associated with mob violence. Today, the use of self-help measures and the right to defend oneself or one's property with deadly force varies by state.

No but Democrats are. Gang violence, drug violence, economic instability, etc..

What are we going to do? Take in every country that collapses cause ours didn't? It's pure national suicide. Other first world nations have insanely strict immigration rules to prevent collapse. This country needs to do the same. This country is not immune.

Oh? And you came up with that information based on WHAT...?

Using your criteria, could a bunch of guys arrayed like the group below be a "well regulated militia" in the United States? All you need is 'colors, standards, banners, and guidons'... right?

[IMG] .These guys were [IMG] -- a "well regulated militia" (NOT official Wehrmacht) So...?

    Democrats want a solution, too.

If Trump actually wanted a solution, he could ask for one to be created.

As I pointed out, Dems have a solid record on developing a solution. Look at the bill created by a bipartisan committee in 2013 - a bill that passed the Senate and would have passed the House had Boehner not blocked it. A bill that included $40B for the southern border.

In fact, the number of undocumented immigrants in the US stopped growing when Obama took office and didn't grow throughout his administration.

That hadn't happened in the modern era!!

what you said is nonsense; there is no "individual power" to enforce federal laws regarding entry into the Union.

What can Trump do besides try to better control the border? Too many state and local politicians are just fine with ignoring immigration law. Short of Trump having them arrested nothing will change, especially when the establishment of both parties aren't too concerned with fixing the problem.

Because the proposed legislation included things such as amnesty and fast track pathways to citizenship for illegal aliens residing within the country.

You missed the point, which was in direct response to your idea that a "well regulated militia" requires having "colors, standards, banners, and guidons". Our American Constitution doesn't say a word about what uniforms, banners, or other decorations a militia must have in order to FUNCTION.

Thus, in OUR country at least, you can be attired in blue jeans, a work shirt, and a cowboy hat -- without any colors, badges, or other inspiring array -- and be a "well regulated milita". THAT is the point I made, which you ignored.

    What the Constitution actually states:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

There's nothing in there about colors, badges, regalia, insignia, or anything else. It says what it says -- period!

Correct, he can't do anything without working with other people. Not likely to happen with him, he doesn't know how to work to finding solutions to problems.
That is another reason he is WORTHLESS as president.

And you are correct, neither party is too interested in the immigration issue. They never have been, almost since the days we became a country.

There must be a reason for that.

So those things aren't real? The Ds are making those issues up?

What are we to do, let every person in the world seeking help just die?
Then get your party to implement some immigration policy, if that is a huge concern to you. You know the R party is not doing nothing, just like the D party. And the never work with anyone tRUMP isn't going to get anything done. Heck, he has no plan but for a mostly useless wall.

Nothing in the constitution gives individuals a right to organize para-military bands. Under the Militia act of 1903, state militias are now codified as the state national guards. There are also the "unorganized militias" of those people who essentially can be drafted to serve. And thirdly, there various state defense forces established by individual states.

The US runs a multi $bn dollar trade deficit with Mexico ... Mexico's unemployment rate is almost as low as ours. Mexico grants asylum to transient migrants who apply. Why must the US be the only country that grants unconditional entry and social welfare support?
