I stopped in at Hohenfels I think on the way back from Amsterdam. I did spend some weeks at Grafenwohr though.

Could be I am mixed up as to the Hohenfels thing. I found the train from Amsterdam came to a stop at some station and for the night. The conductor boosted me off the train. It was winter. I was lucky to locate a gasthouse and got food and a room.

The next AM I caught a one car train that took me to the Army base a Army buddy was at. We visited a bit and I had to get back on a train that took me back to Schweinfurt.

I just looked up Hohenfels on google map. Check this out. If that is where it is, no, i was not there.

I just looked at Google maps trying to figure out where the train stopped and I simply do not know. But it was much closer to Frankfurt.

Which is more demanding overall ? Certainly UFC fighters are also in better shape than the vast majority of Marines. I was joking around, thats what I meant by Trumped. I wouldnt trust a woman any more in a firefight than I would playing in the NFL, thats my point

My dad served both as a firefighter and the chief over the Fruitland Ridge Fire company for some years.

Football is not an endurance sport.

As long as the standards are based upon the strength, endurance, and skill that is required to do the job, then the standards should remain where they are and if women can pass it, they can have the job, and if they can't, they'll have to do something else. That's the only fair way to do it. I'm not really sure how much hand-to-hand combat is really required for infantry these days since we're using guns more than swords, but it's not my area of expertise and as long as the determination is based upon actual needs, and not politics, then it doesn't matter how many women can or cannot pass.

I have no sense of humor. There are plenty of women combatants in the world, Israel most notably. And they are performing fine.

If this were the days of armored knights, I wouldn't defend the idea of women in combat, it would be absurd. They wouldn't even be able to wear the gear. A knight's armor was well in the 100+lbs range and the sword was as heavy as a rifle except you had to grip it with one hand and swing it around.

A shield was often much heavier.

And the warbow took 200lbs of draw strength to pull back to full knock.

If you want to keep women out of the military just make basic training more like medieval soldiery.

Haha looks like we got us a keyboard warrior? Whatcha wanna know Sweety?

Some cool stories about some goat lovers getting railed by the Saw? Maybe some sweet chopper exfils? OR maybe that time the Rangers through all the weights outside the wire?

Lol civilians are so funny. You can tell a non-combat MOS soldier (POG) from a grunt. You can ESPECIALLY tell some low life civilian trying to pretend like they know ANYTHING about the military.

Perhaps it is wiser to say: the standards should fit the job. Who is to say that we need the standards to be such that only men can pass them?

Most soldiers even in combat do not need to carry very heavy weights, and endurance is not usually a matter of strength.

A soldier has more in common with speed walking than they do with Iron man competitions or the "Cross fit games".

Absolutely been shot at. It's the job of 11B. If you are an 11B gone to either theatre and haven't been shot at, you're lying.

I've only been in a helicopter one time - air medivac. I was unconscious with a self placed tourniquet on an arm and leg. Don't remember it, though. Had bleed out to unconsiciousness by the time anyone got to me.

Fighting wildfires is dangerous as hell if that is what you do. A lot of potential long term health issues too such as lungs.

You may have noticed none of these self-declared military guys have any actual combat stories. They roughed it out Germany or on a base somewhere.

A Marine we know who was a squad leader in the Helman District of Afghanistan had NOTHING good to say about Army in terms of combat. The Army arrives AFTER the Marines had made it safe for them.

11B to me = sits on their butt and can barely move around heavy weight. Which is my whole point. Firefighters blow 11B's out of the water. Maybe if you were 19D or something at least then you would have to carry some more weight and keep up with mechanized equipment? Bwahaha.

Well statistically the Army out performs the Marines but that just might be operational bias, the Army possibly gets the biggest easiest scores?

Ya, you don't know (*)(*)(*)(*). I'd like to see your sorry ass breaking brush along the Tigris river, in the middle of July, carrying 80lbs of Body Armor, and gear.

Tell your war story if you got one.

It is curious how people who were in the military believe all of society revolves around them, even if just serving one term and either never in combat or for a short time.

    Do you protect anyone now?

Not even comparable. You're a punk kid running your mouth. You've never fought fires, or fought other men over seas. Pipe down, and let the grown folks talk.

Lake Tahoe has some truly Butt kicking hiking areas. To start with, the Lake is around 6,000 feet up so you start out with thinner air.

I'll just let you bury yourself actually, it is very comparable. You obviously never used heavy equipment before.

The Marine Corp did testing of all male unit vs mixed units. All male units out performed mixed units in every way.

I would doubt the validity of the testing, considering Israel does a lot more fighting and Close quarters battle and has no problem with mixed units.

Are you asking if I'm forward deployed on in Garrison?

Sorry lady, my war stories are between me, and the forced "feelings doctor" visits :)

Well and every other 11B I get a beer with.

Actually, one story I never mind telling isn't combat related, but F-in crazy. This ANA soldier wanted to go fishing and had no fishing pole. He decided to take a battery with jumper cables (or whatever they are called) hooked up and go out in the water and kill the fish (smart, eh). Dude zapped himself into the arms of Allah.

Yawn, now you're riding your friend's coat tails, because you haven't done a damn thing in you're life. Like I said, pipe down and let the grown folks talk.
