How is a $15 federal minimum wage connected to Covid relief?

That was 6-8 years ago, all of it BS, anything current?
The rights fear and hate of a half way decent wage is a very strange thing. Only thing I can figure is they are all so close to the 15 dallar wage mark that it will make it look like they themselves are 'low wage' so inorder to keep themselves on a higher plain, they have to keep everyone else lower.
Kinda pathetic really.

 

Since when is an unskilled entry level job supposed to pay you more than the job is worth so you can live a middle class life style? Shouldn't a minimum wage only afford you a minimum lifestyle? If you want to live a higher standard of living then make your labor worth to an employer.

 

I never said anything about a wage having to be middle class. I was simply pointing out that $15 is NOT lower middle class.

What if the job is only worth $10 an hour?
EARNING a higher wage because the person made their labor worth more is EXCELLENT. You are advocating it be done by government fiat which is not. Understand the difference?

The whole concept of a "minimum wage" is a bad idea! The government has no business whatsoever deciding what anyone should be paid for doing a job -- period. You won't find one (ONE) word authorizing that kind of nonsense anywhere in the Constitution.

Besides, whether they make it fifteen dollars an hour or fifteen THOUSAND dollars an hour, within a few months INFLATION swoops in and gobbles up the artificially-increased, momentary 'purchasing power' -- and then you're essentially right back where you started!

Hint: In a free-market economy, such as the United States has had from the first day of our national existence, YOU GET WHAT YOU EARN! If you have a valuable skill that is in demand, you get paid commensurately MORE than other people. If you don't have much education, experience, skill, or aptitude, you get paid commensurately LESS than other people. And in a free country like ours, you are free to become anything you are willing to make the effort to achieve... or, you can just fall by the wayside, make little of life, and bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch. It's great that as Americans, we have the FREEDOM to do that!

 

The person who budgets it usually the owner. Never said I was "so special". The only time I ever earned minimum wage was a UNION JOB. What makes you so special as to be able to tell every business owner how much every job is worth to the business. You seem to conflate "personal worthiness" with what the labor they are providing to someone else is financially worth to them.

Tell me something why doesn't every business pay every employee minimum wage?

2. The left's importation of cheap labor from foreign countries which depresses worker wages (per supply and demand);

sure they do, they set the lowest rate greedy people can pay an employee, states can make that relate higher if they want

 

The issue should be left up to each state. The federal government was never intended to insert itself into every issue.

I assume you understand the Fed runs a little bit of inflation to avoid any chance of deflation that raises real interest rates.
