Yet turn around and blame him, in the next breath...I'm sure convinced...

Your all over the place, first you claim this thread is about the opinion of Iranians, over this recent event, then go back to 1988 and tell me this..."Seems to me that you may want to limit the discussion to your own conclusions?"

Just answer the question. Do you want a debate? Or, do you just want to hear from people who agree with you?

The impact of the Iranian protests over the Iranian shoot-down of the Ukrainian airliner. What do you think the discussion is about?

Not trying to blame our President or events in 1988. Seems to me that you may want to limit the discussion to your own conclusions

I said I didn't blame the Ukrainian airliner crash on our President. Do you? And, don't you think that "rational people" would compare the Ukrainian crash to similar accidental shoot-downs, such as those in Ukraine and the Persian Gulf? You haven't answered that simple question.

You said you "dont blame" him yet turn around and do so, in the same breath. It's now the year of our Lord, 2020. Not 1988.
I haven't answered the question since I tend to ignore strawmen.

Let me tell you what you want to hear: "The protests in Iran over the Iranian government's admission of accidentally shooting down the Ukrainian airliner is undoubtedly the beginning of a new Iranian revolution that will overthrow the current regime." Is that better. Feel good now? I didn't say I believed the President's drone attack led to the accidental missile launch at the Tehran Airport...I just noted that some "rational people" might compare the Tehran Airport accident with similar accidents made by the U.S. and the pro-Russian militias in Ukraine for doing something similar.
If I were you, I'd take Propaganda 101 a second time.

    :bored:

Another FAKE "Panic" Narrative (every time that some Mischaracterized Alarmist Tweet shows up)?

They fired some tear gas and one woman suffered a non life threatening injury.

But, to read that Alarmist Tweet one would've thought that they were mowing them down like China 1989.

You really need to research those links more diligently before you post them.

Those sort of Twitter feeds are known for Spreading FAKE narratives.

    Not a good look.

Anyway, let us all hope that the demonstrations remain peaceful.:flagus:

Are you the teacher? You have a knack for it. And constructing strawmen.

Hahaha...if you open an issue for discussion, you must be prepared to accept other opinions in the discussion and/or questions regarding your own rationality. No...not a teacher...have just lived in a country since birth that takes care to preserve free speech.

You never answered my simple questions. That told me, you didn't accept alternative interpretations. The only "rational people" seemed, according to you, were those who have reached the same conclusions you've reached.

    Have a nice evening.

I'm sure the rank and file Iranians, especially their youth, blame Americans and Israelis over the shooting down of Ukrainian airliner.

    Oops :D

    Impact!

I watched the CBS morning news earlier today. Iranian protests, CBS correspondent's expulsion today, images of of young girl shot by police, UK diplomat arrest were the lead stories. The segments lasted 10 minutes and were magnetic and powerful in their human condition angle and damn compelling in inviting me to become emotionally invested in the struggle. Just powerful stuff!

The pretty girl shot today reminded me of Neda Agha-Soltan from the 2009 election protests in Tehran. An innocent just standing watching just crumples to the ground. Who the **** aims at young girls?

CBS segued from the human interest story in Iran's streets to Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi etc arguing against the military operation killing Gen. Soleimani by saying that the Iranian people revered the good General and were protesting in the streets, and of course Trump's to blame. It was absolutely discordant and cringe worthy. It came off as cold, almost evil.

This isn't going unnoticed by the electorate.

Pelosi and Schiff too. The optics here, seen in vivid technicolor, are damning and show the stark contrast with reality that the Dem leadership lives in.

Iraq? Really? That's you ONE shining example where regime change in the Middle East actually worked?

The same Iraq that just voted to kick our troops out, after which Trump said: NO!

You mean that "democratic" Iraq that can't even tell an occupying force to leave? That must me some democracy.

A freely elected government after we removed the terrorist supporting threat to the region and the world. You asked I gave.

Perhaps, but I think most "rational people" would note that the shoot-down was an error, similar to other accidental attacks on commercial aircraft and that the error is not necessarily related to the regime. Of course, the same people may also oppose the regime for other reasons. I would also guess that dissatisfaction with the regime centers around the university students and urban centers of the country.

I doubt it. Most of the electorate, in my opinion, doesn't want to go to war over Iran.
