Is that not standard protocol? It seems, to protect the integrity of any such search, no one would be allowed in the spaces that were being searched, not even the owner of the residence, or else there would be the possibility of that person snagging some bit of evidence, on the sly. Also, if others were present, beside the law enforcement officers conducting the search, it would leave any future prosecution open to the charge, to show "reasonable doubt," that perhaps one of the spectators had actually brought in, themselves, whatever contraband was ultimately recovered.

You are looking to everything with a mind which has already decided upon its truth, and so is willing to stretch in any dubious direction (as I had implied), to find an explanation, justifying your preconceived belief.

Nobody does more to divide and conquer, or bamboozle the weak minded than Donald Trump. That's been his MO for his entire life. He's made his fortune off shills, and he's been making his political fortune the same way.

I don't disagree that these people aren't trustworthy but you shouldn't trust Republicans either.

No Republican ever to hold office has reduced the size of government. I'm not saying don't vote for them just understand you can't trust them.

It's also the same way they catch members of organized crime.

Uh...you wanted to trust the lawyers of a criminal to be honest with the police and just hand over stuff that may be incriminating? Your measure of honesty is based on the impeccable moral and ethical code of private defense attorneys?

You’re putting the horse before the cart. He hasn’t been convicted of any crime. The FBI has a track record of being dishonest with the courts in the past; why should they be trusted now? Can you address that question, please.

Law enforcement has had a record of being dishonest with courts for as long as organized law enforcement has existed. I could make this claim for literally EVERY SINGLE action by law enforcement based on past examples of unethical behavior. So if you're advocating for a system where I can just say "I shouldn't get in trouble for what I've done because sometimes some of the thousands and thousands of people who work in all the varying aspects of law enforcement have acted illegally or unethically."

Added to that Trump's historically documented habit of creating false narratives any time he is being held to task for something he has said or done? If you're going to call past incidents of dishonest behavior by law enforcement into this, you can't just ignore Trump's own huge list of similar transgressions. And you want him to be taken at his word here?

Sounds like license to act however you want if you ask me.

HILLARY AND OBAMA AND BILL GATES AND GEORGE SOROS AND CANADA'S PRIME MINISTER JUSTIN TRUDEAU WOULD DO ESSENTIALLY ANYTHING TO STOP PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP FROM GAINING POWER AGAIN IN 2024...... BECAUSE THEY ARE WORRIED THAT THE EVIDENCE THAT THE NSA HAS COULD BE USED TO INDICT THEM......

The FBI director is a Republican appointed by Trump.

At some point if everyone is out to get you (Trump), maybe it's about you (Trump) not them.

Some good points, however, the fact remains that in this particular case the track record of the Intel community has been proven to be dishonest. Add to that the questions of the timing and details of this specific raid and it smells like another effort to simply "get" Trump. It goes without saying that if Trump has done anything illegal he should face the "music", but our criminal justice system demands equal treatment under the law. It's one of the reasons defense attorneys exist that defend even the guilty -- it holds the government accountable to our equal justice system and ultimately protects every citizen's rights under the Constitution (in specific the 4th amendment). The FBI in its original creation was a tool to go after Roosevelt's political enemies; it still is weaponized to this very day. Perhaps it is time to defund it, instead of all the local LEO.

That never does any good if that someone keeps their nose clean, and lives a life of integrety, and honor. Nobody ever accused Trump of doing that.

Nope - Have a tip that someone who had access to Top Secret files still has some even though they claimed not to ... then
the FBI is coming. End of story.

What part of, "He had files marked "Top Secret" in his possession," aren't you grasping? Trump literally signed the law
that increased the penalty for this very thing because he thought it was a serious issue,

    McCain got 59,948,000 to Obama's 69,499,000 in 2008. Romney got 60,934,000 to Obama's 65,916,000 in 2012, Hillary at 65,854,000 to Trump's 62,985,000 in 2016 and Biden at 81,269,000 in 2020 to Trumps 74,216,000
You have no point except turnout tends to increase with hyperpartisan division is strong.

Believe me, Trump was treated differently - he was treated with kid gloves. If this had been a normal FBI raid, they would have gone through ALL of his properties, all his cars, his plane - EVERYTHING.

If everyday Joe had been accused of having Top Secret files in their possession, they would have had to endure a full interrogation at the FBI,
their travel would have been restricted, their bank accounts put under a microscope ... hell, dude, if you really want
Trump "treated like everyone else," I'm all for it.
