Actually I voted for a couple of Republicans at the local/state level, they were the better choice in my opinion, unless one is talking Lt Governor or above Party is rarely a factor in Texas politics, most the time when voting for a position such as Mayor few can even tell you which Party they belong to. There are still some good Republicans, unfortunately the Tea Party is driving more and more of them out of the GOP and soon the GOP will be a Party of extremists and then the Party will finally die off as a true player in American Politics the destruction will come from within there. I know some TP'ers will say no way, yet when asked why they do not form their own Party they either go silent or make excuses, they know the Tea Party is unacceptable to most Americans and that they could not get elected in real numbers if the voters knew their real agenda. They are also the ones that argue the most when it is suggested that the Party designations bee removed from the ballet, it is because they know that they would lose all the straight ticket sheeple Republican voters, then people would have to know the candidates and if that happens they are doomed.

Single issue voter and admitted it publically, my my my.

Everyone already knows your agenda, there was no need to repeat it here again.

Erik, as a black liberal male, there's really no way to explain to you why it is that someone would vote for something other than Democrat politicians. Your confusion over this is understandable, given the way your racial voting bloc has been so entangled with left-wing policies and politicians over these many decades, but there's really no hope in explaining it. Just shrug it off as racism. That way everything will make perfect sense.

My guess most are simply becoming Independents or getting away from politics, with the state of American Politics today can anyone blame them. It is easy to simply sit down and realize not much is going to change either way and once you do the realization that this Nation is in it's twilight years dawns on you and then it all really becomes hard to want to continue investing time in politics.

The majority of high school drop outs vote Democrat. The majority of those on welfare vote Democrat. The most loyal racial voting bloc for Democrats has a lower average IQ.

White liberal elites have very high opinions of themselves, but it doesn't apply to their overall voting group.

I gave you my reasons for voting for Republicans in this election and you quote my last line. My god, you are a liberal, aren't you? Are you bucking for a job with the White House lying to the public for fun and money?

Thanks. I wasn't looking for agreement so much as I was just being 100% brutally honest for why I voted Republican in this election. I did so with much fear and trepidation that with the arrogant, narcissistic, and self-aggrandizing fearless leader in the White House and an administration as incompetent as any I've observed for a very long time, a newly empowered GOP won't be able to accomplish enough in two years to impress. And that could open the door for another Democratic win for the White House and even possibly loss of power in one or both chambers of Congress.

I felt the Republicans deserved to lose power when they did in 2006--they had done little or nothing to merit retaining their seats--but I was horrified that what we replaced them with was ten times worse. At this point I don't expect to stop the bleeding or the infliction of additional wounds, but I hope the GOP will be able to use their new powers to at least slow that down. I fear what a President with nothing to lose at this point, and who is clueless about how to build any kind of positive legacy, might do in the next two years that will be far worse than what he has already done.

You can mark me up as one of your typical "no" votes, because I'm actually an anti-voter. I don't support the GOP so much as I oppose the Democrats. I disagree with both parties a majority of the time, but I'm closer to agreeing with the GOP than the Democrats on the vast majority of issues. But here are a couple that were pertinent in who I was voting for or donated $ to:

    1. Because he produced a budget suprlus
    2. Because he took steps to counter welfare abuse
    3. Because he supports education reform
    4. Because he supports school vouchers.
    5. Because he supports tax and spending cuts (and is eloquent and can draw people to the party).

I'm not going to enable a welfare state, which is precisely what the current administratioin intends America to become.

We have the lowest number of workers as a percentage of the population in a decade or more...and unemployment figures are masked to not reflect the millions who have dropped out of the seeking gainful employment ranks. I do not accept that 40% of the citizenry needs to be on some form of government assistance, and then pretend the economy is improving.

Yes the stock market has rebounded, housing has rebounded...it's not all bad...but to pretend the Democrats have done a good job is denying the reality we reside in an increasingly entitlement centric nation with a dangerous reliance on a centralized government for our very survival.

We have enabled the government to attain far too much control by giving up and declaring our complete dependence upon them from cradle to grave.

My vote was less pro-Republican and more anti-Marxism..and this is not hyperbole. The progressives want no less than the destruction of free enterprise replaced by a central government.

This is not your Grand-dads blue dog Democratic party...this is the Bill Ayers, "we hate America" "we hate corporations" "we hate capitalism" "we hate religion" Democratic party.

My vote was a political statement...an "up yours" to the anti-establishment neo-hippie progressive.

    2. I object to granting amnesty for law breakers, at the expense of those trying to come here legally.
    3. The DOJ is the most racist this country has ever seen.
