How about they let Canada and Ukraine do the investigating, or at least independently verify the results. Nobody trusts Iran, for good reason.

 

I guarantee that Iran is going to Cherry Pick as much evidence from the wreckage as possible to try and hide the FACT! that they shot down this Passenger jet. Wouldn't surprise me the least if those Black Boxes disapppear or somehow the Data is erased. Maybe the Iranians should send all the evidence they collect to Hillary Clintons office, she's pretty good at making things disappear.

A military plane yes. A civilian jet no. They're not built for it.

 

If that about Ukrainian plane being shot down by Iran is confirmed and if we also take in to the account that 50 people were killed in stampede at Soleimani's funeral than it is really better that Iran stopped with its 'great revenge'.

Think of the hundreds of American lives that would have been saved if Obama had killed Soleimani instead of giving him Amnesty.

Obama was more worried about his legacy than hundreds of American lives.

Duh, the Democrats had an agreement that had no expiration date. Trump destroyed that. Now he puts an expiration date on the agreement "as long as I'm president" which at best will be one more year. Try again, what Democrat will be giving nukes to Iran then??

 

That deal only restricted Iran to a pause of 10 years, after which they were free to go ahead.

 

Initially, on the other thread started yesterday on this subject, I was confident that the plane must have crashed for mechanical failure or some such reason. That was because (a) both Iran and the Ukrainians said so, and (b) because the reasons being given here sitting far from the incident aren't anything those who had pointed to a mechanical failure weren't aware of. Right now, however, I am not sure because (a) both Iran's civil aviation authority and the Ukrainians have stepped back from the mechanical failure theory, and (b) there are reports or pictures (not verified) about debris from the tail of a Russian-,made Tor missile.

On the latter, let me say why on its own that is not dispositive. First, the Tor missile is a short/medium range anti-aircraft missile and wouldn't have the range to take down this plane at the altitude it had reached. (More on that below). Second, the authenticity of the pictures of the debris of the Tor wasn't authenticated by anyone. Finally, because there are other possible explanation for debris of a Tor missile in an area that also may have had anti-aircraft testing and firing.

But thinking through about the issue, I am getting the sense that it was possibly a combination of mechanical failure and a Tor missile! In other words, the factors that led to the initial conclusion of mechanical failure might have led the plane to change course and descend back towards IKA airport. That might have also confused Iran's air defense operators, who wouldn't be expecting the plane, and with it now flying at a low altitude, they might have indeed shut it down by accident.

Besides the fact that the above is merely speculation on my part and the facts will ultimately need to be established by the investigation and not what we speculate about here, there is still one fact that makes me suspect that Iran shooting the plane is unlikely. And that fact is that if Iran had done this, Iran would know about it and they would be in a different mode in terms of how they would be reacting to the event. The reaction from Iran's authorities, including the aerospace commander of the revolutionary guards who gave a confident briefing boasting about the missile strikes against the Iraqi bases a few hours ago, just didn't sound like what I would expect if they had made such a costly mistake. That is why I still tend to think it is unlikely that this plane was brought down by an Iran.

 

So is Obama responsible for hundreds of American lives after giving amnesty to the worlds #1 terrorist?
