What a dumb question. It's really quite amazing to see how GREEDISTS (notice I refuse to call them conservatives) are so indoctrinated to their perspective, they can't even see simple truth.

OK blind one. For thousands of years, rich people have been exploiting poor people by enslaving them and underpaying them (a form of partial slavery), denying them adequate safety, and denying them adequate benefits. All of history is the history of class warfare, 95% of it the rich upon the poor and middle class. Sheeeeeeeeeshh !!!

I was trying to see what the Occupy Wall Street protesters were all about and in the process I Googled "The 99%" and up came a website based on the Thomas Edison quote "Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration." I about busted a gut laughing!

I don't care what your little # says. All my life I've seen college graduates driving cabs, waiting on tables, being security guards, being unemployed and severely underemployed. I have seen this (including myself) for almost 50 years, going back to when I had my first full-time job in 1962. You have never been given a more correct statement in your life.

I can see I don't need to ask anymore questions to you, this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever read. So the rich provide jobs to the middle class and poor, but are enlsaving them, denying their precious safety, benefits, etc. OMG, how is anyone in this world surviving in these kinds of conditions. LOL.

Guess what. Your FACTS don't refute anything I've said. Remember what I said originally ? I said "Many people have done all the things you said (grad school, hard work, military service, etc) and are now poor and unemployed. And they don't take drugs."

So what does your statistic have to do with that ? Nothing ? Millions of people have been in this condition I described for 50 years. That = "many".
    Get it ?

i dont want anyone that thinks we should come to heel to our government to ever be able to legally vote in my country. my government should come to heel to ME! they are there to work for me and guard my liberties. not for me to guard their authority. they have the authority we the people give them. they prefer us have the authority our government allows us to have.

i have an idea. lets tax the wealthy at 100% federal and then when the states want their taxes the wealthy wont have the money to pay it and we can jail all of them. our economy will be perfect if we eliminate the wealthy.

It happens, but it is certainly a very uncommon thing; most Americans (99%) cannot relate to that.

Lets assume there are truely 100 people who made over $1billion last year. Now tax them at 100% and give that tax to every person who did not make over $1billion.

    What do you have?

Each person in the US get $300.

    WOOT!

I think the solution is placing the same PROPORTION of economic burden upon ALL (poor, middle class and wealthy). Everyone pays the same PROPORTION of taxes. No exemptions, no loopholes. If we TRULY did that, I don't think most people would pay more than 10% of their income; but that is just a guess.

There may be some reason to make that a bit more progressive or something similar... but that is the basic idea I wish to see promoted.

I personally like the idea of NO income taxes whatsoever, and a sliding scale consumption tax. But thats just me...

You are aware that you are allowed to write any amount of money on your tax return, right?

You are also aware that you are allowed to send any amount to the IRS. Don't expect any of it to be tax deductible.
