the job of the cops is to mop up the blood and write reports. this is why the citizen needs to maintain the right of self preservation which includes weapons if necessary.

wrong. in some scenarios, ours for example, it is the perfect home defense weapon. matched with the right ammunition and optics, there’s not much the AR platform can’t do.

An AR carbine in a major pistol caliber - 10mm, 45ACP - is a better choice than a shotgun in virtually every home-defense scenario.

 

a handgun is best suited for close quarters, let alone not worrying about the round going through the walls.

maybe your interior walls are mason or steel and you live alone.

 

if it is using a pistol then that is better. that said, a regular hand held .45 will do just fine and is most certainly easier to handle.

 

Agreed. What a BS ruling. The duties of Cops are not to protect people, but to protect private property. It's completely ridiculous.

The AR holds more ammo, has less recoil, gives you more leverage, and thus control, of the gun, and is a better melee weapon.

 

It's a good point I can understand waiting until you get added backup and get on vests and arm properly, so that you go in as a practical threat to the shooter but not going in at all seems a violation of their role as law officers who should risk their lives to save others but understanding this should not mean throw away or take undo risks when its prudent maybe to wait a bit and be going in ready to act. At least secure routes of escape and try to keep the shooter occupied until SWAT teams can go in force and take the shooter out of play.

And I do believe they should have the right to sue the cities law enforcement for failure to act in a timely manner to deal with the threat, risking lives is LE job if they don't want to do their job they need to find other work. There needs to be a balance the right of the officer to be prepared to act with the better chance of success and protection but you need to act in a way to secure lives even if you get shot doing it.

 

well hopefully ones weapon of choice and their accuracy overrides the possibility of a melee, otherwise that weapon of choice gets closer to being moot in the confrontation.

I don't know why anyone is surprised here. SCOTUS ruled quite a while back that cops have no obligation to save anyone.

They are there to arrest people after the fact.

Have you guy ever heard of google? Would you like to take a guess which president nominated her to serve as a federal judge? Just for your information it was Obama. And Harry Reid was the judicial committee chairman. I think you might be wrong. You see all you have to do is read and educate yourself. You have no idea how much information is out there. If you learn how to use it you might just stop be wrong all the time.

 

Basically that about sizes it up.The Government cannot force a
student to learn or to study.No more than it can force a certain type food
on students for lunch.And this Government { even though it tried under
Obama } to force Unisex bathrooms,the public was unwilling to abide.
Somewhere same-sex marriage was made legal because we now have
radicalized judges and a certain number on the Supreme court attempting
to make law instead interpret it.
A good plan today may be advisable to a perfect plan tomorrow,.

What about pass a Federal Law requiring any law enforcement officer on duty and trained to use weapons and in self-defense to intervene when human life is at risk with the only consideration they may wait only long enough for reinforcements to be in place before acting, or make it something one can sue for and make it a Federal Felony to violate this law with a fine and perhaps a year or two in a Federal Prison for repeat cases. Make it a lawful issue at all levels.

 

nope, it's saying that school security would have no duty to protect the students, so I guess they want armed students, the ones of course doing the mass shootings - teens all armed with guns in the classroom, what could go wrong

 

This will run into 10th amendment issues - the federal government cannot create such a requirement for state law enforcement.
