Didn't we know this was going to happen? Who thinks you can FORCE kids to eat veggies? Gotta wonder what Michelle Obama has EVER done that makes her qualified to act as our children's nutritionist?

Who needs more proof Democrats want to control our lives? I hear Twinkies have become the new black market in high schools. And chocolate syrup is going for $5 a hit.

Maybe we should replace the EBT card (which replaced Food Stamps) with special MREs dreamed up by Michelle.

I made it 1:25 into that horrific parody video.

Where is the part about Michelle Obama in there? What is the time stamp? Or can I simply assume this is another example of faux outrage where your "facts" come form a video that is apparently a joke?

Now I believe in personal freedom, and that includes the freedom for indulgent parents to turn there little kids into smelly little prediabetics that waddle. Did you know you can shove (*)(*)(*)(*) down your children's throat at home? Serve them all of the Twinkies and Bacon that you want to?

Where is the law that says that kids have to eat certain things? I mean, I have no doubt it is coming in a brilliant bipartisan effort, but where is the law Michelle Obama wrote that says that kids have to eat xyz?

    Nowhere?

This childishness and pandering to an out of touch base is exactly how the Republicans will snatch defeat out of the mouth of victory.

Where have you been, Z? Ever heard of the Healthy School Meals Act of 2010 ?

We're not just discussing Michelle Obama's whim... she's spending billions MORE tax dollars that might just as well be flushed down the toilet.

Junk food is not good for kids, it has no nutritional value, is overpriced, and most of it is made with lab-created stuff I'd feel guilty to feed a dog. I mean a Twinkie? Who the hell'd eat a Twinkie? You might as well eat a yellow sponge filled with a blend of mayo and sugar. Nasty...

That's why we have 80 year old Asian men who eat naturally and are more fit than our 20 year olds who sit on their ass playing video games all day and stuffing their faces with junk food all day.

I'm not even gonna touch on Michelle Obama - however the idea that up to 5000 calories of junk food a day is healthy for kids, even active kids, is pure nuts - 5,000 calories of soda, Twinkies, Doritos, etc will go straight to fat and diabetes. An active teen needs 5,000 calories of healthy and preferably natural foods - good carbs, protein, and yes some fruits and veggies. Junk food should be on occasional treat, nothing more.

Plus the majority of kids in HS are not active, unless playing Call of Duty or World of Warcraft counts as "active".

I wouldn't even feed my kids school lunches either, I'd make them my own, seeing as the standard of what the FDA allows into food probably even puts McDonald's to shame - the FDA is still allowing "pink slime" in public school foods even after McDonald's rejected it for being below even their standards.

That being said, the legislation is useless, because morbidly obese children aren't getting that way just from eating 1 stupid school lunch, and reducing the calorie limit to 850 won't make a jack's worth of difference if their parents are letting them gorge on junk food all day.

I never ate the school lunch, in grade school or high school. That (*)(*)(*)(*) was nasty.

When you go to the bathroom at your HS, be sure to flush twice - it's a long way to the kitchen.

Sorry SMW, I posted the same thread not realizing that you had already. I think it's funny the comments you have gotten about the video....my favorite is "Where's the part bout Michelle Obama in there?" Unbelievable that even for this there is immediate defense of the Obama's. God, I can't wait till November!

I laughed at the part which claims that "my friends are getting junk so they don't waste away" - that's pretty oxymoronic. The ones wasting away are the those with 100 lbs of excess lard from porking out on junk food every day. If the video's trying to argue that kids should be able to eat junk food whenever they want, then I have no idea what they've been smoking.

Plus some of the kids in that video could definitely stand to lose a pound or two. And I'm not on the side of Michelle's school lunch act by any means, it's useless legislation.

Perhaps it's no one's business what they are eating...except them, and their parents. It's none of my business what your kid is eating, and it's certainly not the governments. We should all just worry about ourselves and our families...including Michelle "burger eating" Obama.

Why can't that little schmuck's rich republican parents feed his smart*ss mouth?

Why depend on the government to do it? Darn republicans dependent on the government tit!

That's nonsensical - why should a kid who is athletic and not overweight be forced to eat the same amount as a kid who's 100 lbs overweight - it's basically "affirmative action for fat people".

If they're gonna do anything, they should limit the amount of calories to only students who are obese, but they can't do that because some fat kid might "get offended" and cry "discrimination".

What are you talking about? You do realize that school lunches aren't free, right? At least they never were for my kids, now I believe everyone who is on food stamps get free lunches....talk to them.

Why does the federal government decide what kids eat in public school any way? When did that happen? That should be a decision of local school boards and parents.

Indeed, I did not expect your arguemtn to be supported.

Amazing that you take a juvenile video and extrapolate that into some criticism of the first lady.

As I said, folks in this country are free to shove whatever (*)(*)(*)(*) they want down the throats of their children. I find it infinitely amusing that your posts consistent partisanship eschews logic in favor of petty complaints. complaining that school lunches are healthy is perhaps the pinnacle of partisanship.

Kudos on your lost argument and your criticism of thought.

You missed the part where she posted a link to a legislation the Obama admin enacted.

Why should students who are athletic and not overweight be forced to eat the same amount as students with a serious weight problem? If anything, the govt should limit the amount of calories only to children who are overweight, however they're too worried about "discrimination" so they're just going to pass the same legislation for everyone.

So send your snot nosed fatass kids to McDonalds and let the schools at least try to feed the kids at least one healthy meal a day since you parents obviously won't. Or let them bring their lunch. If lazy, fastass parents would take care of their lazy, fatass kids this wouldn't be a problem, would it?

Get them off the frikkin computer and outside exercising and maybe the First Lady can concentrate on other worthy policies. Btw - were you against Nancy Reagan's Just Say No program too?

And in what world do children not get free lunches at school?

Again libs are evading the issue, and pretending that the schools are actually making the kids "eat healthy" when they are still using the same pink slime in their "mystery meat" which even McDonald's finally rejected.

Did I? Where in the video is that relevant? Where? Please tell me the time stamp where any of that is mentioned.

What are you even talking about? Do you know? Because your statement sounds like completely made up nonsense. Feed your kids all you want. Pack them a snack. Stick, McNuggets in their pockets. Have them mainline sugar.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/polit...-michelle-obama-we-hungry.html#post1061752677

Seeing as the video has nothing to do with any of your blather, maybe you should stop taking things so seriously, it doesn't make the left look good, just re-affirms everything I always thought about them.

The Obama admin enacted legislation limiting the amount of calories in school lunches to 850 for all children - this means that morbidly obese kids are being made to eat the same amount as kids who are athletic. The regulation should only apply to children who've been determined to have a weight problem, if anything.

No, I refuse to allow my kids to eat junk food, except once a month or so as a special treat - other than that, they won't eat it until they turn 18 and can buy it themselves. Exceptions might be - natural ice cream or natural fudge/candy as a dessert once every week or two, a subway sandwich on wheat bread as an occasional treat, natural potato chips without excess sodium- and only on occasions - other than that, none - no soda, no candy, no fast food burgers/fries, no Doritos, none of that. Pretty much nothing that I didn't cook myself, that's for sure.

But even if I fed em McDonald's every day, they'd be healthier than eating the slop that gets served in FDA-approved school lunches - seeing as they continue to use the "pink slime" which even McDonald's rejected.

Do you libs even know what your talking about, as in ever, or do you just recite stuff you heard on Media Matters verbatim? lol
