What glorious civilization? Their wealth today was largely stolen after being developed by Americans and Brits. Their civilizations a thousand years ago sort of sucked. I bring this up every once in awhile - that while you have the occasional Arab writer winning an Oscar or somesuch here and there, the Arab states haven't dominated much of anything in hundreds of years. Music, culture, science, architecture, agriculture, the arts, political thought, SFX, computers, law - there's just about NO innovation coming from that particular area nowadays outside of how to make an explosives belt or rocket launcher technology, and any that might be happening is miniscule compared to what is coming from the US, parts of Europe, and Japan. Like I've said, forget about Saudi Arabia or Iran putting out an Avengers movie - how about something on the level of a Dr. Who, or Star Trek series? Even expecting a Gilligans Island from them might be asking too much at this point - they couldn't even come up with original childrens programming without stealing Mickey Mouse!
