Sneaking across the border is not how you "seek asylum." And you're right, those brave men likely prevented a number of crimes, including fraud, forgery, unlawful employment, and illegally crossing the border just for starters. Illegal aliens commit multiple crimes in perpetuity just to enter and remain illegally in our sovereign nation.

Sure, but illegally sneaking across the border is not the way one applies for asylum. "Asylum seeker" is the new buzzword. You'll note now that every person stopped at unauthorized entry points along the border are called "asylum seekers" by the Nancy Pelosi/Rachel Madcow contingent. Correct. The UN Refugee Convention, to which both of our countries are signatories of course, states very clearly the conditions to qualify for refugee or asylum status. "Living in a shithole country" is not one of them.
If I have a badge and claim to be law enforcement, that is impersonation. That is pretty cut and dried. If I actively patrol a group of liquor stores waiting to apprehend an armed robber, that is more akin to vigilantism than someone who simply happens upon a crime while buying themselves a bottle. These guys are actively patrolling our border in much the same way. You can't go around actively trying to make a citizens arrest - with a semi automatic rifle and tactical gear.
I don't know many democrats you should ask one. If a rancher hired these guys to watch his land for trespassers, that would be one thing. I am not aware of anyone charging these guys with the duty of patrolling the US border or private property. They taken that upon themselves.

These guys are not neighborhood watch and this has nothing to do with protecting their property. How many times have the neighborhood watch worn tactical gear, hidden their faces, and engaged targets with an AR? They are actively patrolling the border and impersonating the border patrol.

Furthermore, hardly any individual in South or Central America would actually qualify under the UN CONVENTIONS ON THE STATUS OF REFUGEES. "Living in a shithole country" is not one of the qualifications. And frankly, this recent spate of phony asylum seekers are doing nothing but further jamming up the system for bona fide asylees. Taking advantage of our most generous asylum and refugee programs is the height of cynicism and actual refugees are probably dying because of it.
