One huge point against obamacare

Right.... they could get an amazing insurance at a reasonable price and they turned it down and paid a fine instead because they are fanatics.

There are 20 million homeless people... let's buy them all apartments with taxpayer's money and solve the homlessness problem once and for all.

How about that? Cause that's precisely how ObamaCare works, having solved no underlying problems it merely pays absurdly high premiums with taxpayer's money.

 

All I can say is that my son and his wife have healthcare insurance NOW, for the first time since they left home...because of the ACA...and you would take that away

 

Make less expensive plans legal. Insurers could sell a catastrophic policy that covers only serious injuries or illnesses. The cost to the consumer would be very low.

But if we want to cover everything (chiropractic, mental illness, sex changes, "Oriental" medicine, etc.) the policies will remain unaffordable.

I was listening to one of those wingnut radio programs the other day. It was with Herman Cain. He told the story of somebody who came up to him to explain that had enrolled in "trumpcare" on the marketplace, and was so happy with how much he would save. Cain corrected him "you mean obamacare, right?". And the guy responded "Oh no! I would never take obamacare"

I have a friend who sells non-obamacare "insurance"for a living. His clients know that they will have to pay a fine. His stories are similar.

There are real nutcases among your fellow Republicans. Looks like you hadn't noticed....

Like i said, the taxpayers are paying the enormous cost of your family's premiums and while i imagine you're are thrilled to get this $2,000/mnth freeby you haven't earned, the robbed taxpayers are less then enthusiastic to keep getting robbed.

PS blame Obama and your party for failing to curb the skyrocketing cost of healthcare.

Wait a second out of those 20 million, obama care kicked 6 million off their health care in the first place

So that leaves 14 million, 10 million of those didn't want Obama care in the first place


So Obama messed around with 300 million people plus to benefit only 4 million people,

And how does Obama care benefit the poor and middle class with $6,000 dollar deductible's? Who has 6 grand laying around every year?

Obamacare Consumers Are Getting Tired Of Those High Deductibles

 

I work in health insurance and obama care is horrible. There is companies losing 20 million a year on it. But the Medicaid expansion was great. Getting rid of lifetime maximums is great. But the marketplace insurance is horrible. There is good and bad to it.

 

Oddly...my insurance hasn't changed in 10 years. Costs have risen at a slower rate than previously. My taxes have not gone up ...

How is this "disaster" manifesting itself??

 

Suppose that's not possible..

MosT of us get our insurance through work. Most of those who don't, get it through Medicaid and Medicare.

 

Then get rid of the mandate

 

You don't even know how obamacare works, do you? It would be a bit tiresome to explain it to you here. So let me just point out that those 20 million people are not getting free healthcare.

Obamacare solved or alleviated some underlying problems. Such as access for people with pre-existing conditions, and children's right to healthcare. But we need to keep in mind that it was designed for Republicans, with typical Republican interests in mind. Iit's better than what we had before. But it was built to first protect the profits of the Insurance Companies, while the people's right to healthcare is almost an "add-on"

 

Fortunately there are very few on this forum who would make up such nonsense..

 

20 million people on Obamacare are indeed not getting free healthcare because the insurance industry sends an astronomical bill to the taxpayer. Ironically the recipients of ObamaCare can hardly benefit from their coverage due to equally astronomical deductibles, co-insurance and co-payments that they can hardly afford.

The pre-existing conditions and 26 year old children provisions of Obamacare are good, last i checked, Trump intended to keep them or he should. The rest of Obamacare is total useless wasteful garbage which has to go.

 

But only about 4-6 million of the 20 million really wanted to buy insurance.
