Those who want to steal my property should keep that in mind..
The laws in several states say otherwise - including FL.

Apparently its something for the Grand Jury to decide.

It is was 100% legal, then it boils down to question of whether or not you want to shoot someone in the back to recover property. Individual choice. Maybe some people put a dollar figure to it, like if the stolen item is worth more than $20, then kill, and if its less than $20, then let it go. And maybe others ask "what would Jesus do"

A grand jury decides whether a person stands trial, not whether or not someone is guilty.
A grand jury does not hear evidence or testimony from the defense.
This has, as stated, been tested. By a man defending purely his neighbors property, being told not to go outside by the cops. Shot them in the back.

We've been discussing legality. Its legal in Texas. Morality is of course up to you.

For all have stumbled and fallen short of the glory of God.

I have no sympathy for looters. The fewer, the better.

Legal, - Yes. Under VERY LIMITED CIRCUMSTANCES

Apparently you can get away with it, but just because one person did, does not mean everyone will.

I do not live in Texas, so I leave it for Texans to worry about, or not worry about.

I agree that the morality of taking a life in that situation is of course up to the gun owner.

DeSantis is not just amazing on the 2nd Amendment.

IS THERE ANYTHING RON DESANTIS CAN’T DO? He’s got lefty professors standing up for academic freedom. 'Seriously, the left basically invented academic freedom to protect commies. If lefties start facing limits on what they can say, they’ll rediscover it.'

'The court ruled that the "positively dystopian" act "officially bans professors from expressing disfavored viewpoints in university classrooms while permitting unfettered expression of the opposite viewpoints." The court invoked George Orwell to drive home that if "liberty means anything at all it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear."'

    And Ron just smiles.

I would think the 2nd and 13th would protect the people's right to shoot dead a person who was not a direct physical threat to them IF they were protecting property.

Someone earlier questions, what if the person is going through trash? There is law on this: what you throw out is no longer property. The FBI can rummage through it without a warrant.

But I'm not someone's property. Slavery has been illegal, UN-Constitutional in the US for going on 200 years. Barring someone from shooting a thief dead for taking their property violates the spirit of the 2nd Amendment and makes them an exploitable serf.

    No thanks.

    I approve of his comments.....

It is a good thing for him to warn potential looters that in Florida where home owners are well armed and allowed to defend themselves, their family and their property.........

... these aspiring looters will not be able to loot and pillage like they can do in a city that is ran by Democrats!

No, it's all life and death.

Looting those supplies means people will die.

    No.

No one looted because they knew if they did, they'd be shot.

    That's how you prevent crime.

Looting in a disaster is what kills people.

People looting in a natural disaster, at least the ones with two brain cells, are going after food and water.

What happened to you guys spouting off about "innocent until proven guilty"?

Now you're advocating shooting people for being accused of theft?

Perhaps you should apply for citizenship in Saudi Arabia.

    No.
Shooting people in the act of looting.
    The difference should be obvious.

DuhSantis is a clown who says stupid **** that he knows will appeal to the Trumpers out there.

You folks who are looking to adopt him as your next populist savior don't seem to grasp that he won't appeal to moderates and independents.

Yeah sure. While you're in my house trying to take my food and water we'll have a Zoom trial to make sure you're committing a crime.

Perhaps you should apply for citizenship in Chicago or Portland autonomous zones.

You're just afraid he'll run in 2024 because you know there's every possibility he can beat Biden.
