    and how do you know that their govs didnt oppress them for the sole purpose of having them invade other countries... could be trojan horse so to speak...

    welcome them with open arms could lead to a take over, especially knowing fullwell that one party here condones their votes and changing the fundamentals of our country...

    the weak will always lose in the long run, perhaps thats exactly what the established dems are looking to do...

    Yes, beliefs are very very hard to change.
    But, I have changed many of my beliefs from my youth, to today. Mello'd out so to speak. Don't sweat the small sfuff. Will it matter in 50 yrs. That type of thinking.

    Your opening line sums it up rather nicely. Yeppir as a child I used to hate the taste of Garden Peas... but now as an adult who has more appreciation of food, I rather like them and hence have changed my belief regarding them.

    In regards to "don't sweat the small stuff." and "Will it matter in 50 yrs."... that is IMHO the type of thinking that everyone should engage in as opposed to being reactionary and casting labels at one another. Will it matter in 50 yrs whether or not so and so is a Hindu, Muslim, Catholic, or any other religion? Will it matter in 50 yrs whether or not so and so is a member of the LBGTQ or the KKK or the BLM or any other group? Will it matter in 50 minutes whether or not so and so attempted to convince your very young child that the child should convert to so and so's belief system???? Be careful how that last question is answered.
