The 2nd amendment does not ban gun regulations according to Heller. So there is no anti 2nd Amendment issue here.

I think gun violence needs to he studied. Congress keeps restricting funding to the CDC for the study. Let them decide what recommendation should be made.

The right to regulate the ownership of guns is not the same thing, according to the present conservative court as infringement.

Prior to Heller no court had even agreed the 2nd amendment applied to individuals as compared to state militias. Gun rights had been repeatedly limited throughout US history.

The government has thew power to regulate gun in a number of ways, so long as said regulation does not infringe the right to keep and bear arms.
    US v Miller, 1939.

This has been against federal law since 1968, and the NICS prevents these sales.

But the vast majority of American males are already members of the militia under the U.S. Militia Laws.

There's the organized militia that includes the national guard and the unorganized militia who is anyone (males) who's not a member of the organized militia.

And remember, SCOTUS doesn't always get it right. Some times the SCOTUS have no freaking idea what they are ruling on like The United States v. Miller. -> https://www.law.cornell.edu/supremecourt/text/307/174

What the SCOTUS were unaware of, that U.S. Marines don't give a **** about the international rules of war and continued using shotguns on the battlefield after WW l to keep Hells gates filled with fresh bodies.

Look. If we "children" back-in-the-day couldn't stop the Vietnam War until it was totally lost already, I doubt that today's 'Children's Crusade' is going to throw out something as vital as legitimate SELF-DEFENSE, and the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution. The kiddies can have their little marches and whine their little whines... but when guns are outlawed, the 'criminals and crazies' will simply come and kill them with ILLEGAL guns! Wow! Is that a stunner of a revelation, or what?! :cynic:

BTW, what is a "Fred Meyer" store...? :confusion:

[IMG] . The first "Children's Crusade".... :psychoitc:

What I’ve noticed is those that love the 2nd amendment embrace the 1st amendment out of spiteful nastiness against their fellow man. You want the right to talk sh!t and then defend yourself against your victim. I’m not sure the 1st amendment was to cause disharmony in so much as to ensure the government and religious heirarchy weren’t controlling the population.

Anyway, decriminalize illicit drugs and do something about the 1st amendment that promotes harmony rather than a freedom to divide. Freedom of speech is extremely important but the manner in which it is delivered is destructive. It’s time to recalibrate to meet with present times!

I am actually somewhat ok with that as we can monitor and help out those stores to be more professional in sales of guns. Really, I am not sure how much I want guns being sold in Wal-Mart considering the clerks are not about checking I'd and caring, plus it is the place to shoplifting and they have the largest shrinkage in the retail business. A gun store can be like a marijuana dispensary and keep the kids out along with having a specialized license and system for doing background checks and securing the firearms from theft and wrongful sales if we manage them properly. A gun store that violates the rules can be shut down a lot easier than Wal-Mart. You can also make sure the employees are chosen better than Wal-Mart who is a large employer of ex cons.

...and the gun stores that continue to sell guns, ammo and gun accessories are going to make out like bandits.

    No, you said...
...which clearly IS an opinion. I'm not sure how you think you are going to get away with blatantly lying about the one and only thing you wrote in your OP.

Colt started selling the AR-15 in 1964. The AK-47 has been in production since 1949. Columbine was the first really orchestrated school shooting on April 20, 1999. That's 35 years between introduction of the AR-15 and Columbine and 50 years since the introduction of the AK-47.

Fascinating how for 35 years there were no mass school shootings with either the AR-15 or AK-47, but as realistic first person shooter computer games advanced realistically in conjunction with reckless prescribing of psychotropic drugs to teens and the school mass shootings started. If people are serious about stopping the tide of disturbed teens buying or stealing a AR-15 and shooting up a school like a first person shooter game, then those games should be banned for sale and possession. Add to that removing a psychiatrists ability to prescribe psychotropic drugs without the OK of a real physician.

The CDC isn't the best organization to study the issue.
