I am not sure how I feel about this part. I think that maybe, once upon a time, it was necessary or that it was considered to be "good". But I really think it's an anachronism, now. I feel this way because, if the US allows Mexicans to apply for asylum, then it follows that people from all the other countries should enjoy the same right, too. And I really think this is bad news for the American people. Flooding the country with the world's poor really is just a very undesirable thing.

You see, the problem is that racism only takes hold on people with low levels of education and, for that reason, who are highly misinformed.. So it's impossible to reason with them at any level. But there have been experiments in which it has been demonstrated that racism diminishes as the level of education and information increases.

A moral principle is an objective universal form of measuring human nature. Racism is morally equivalent to child abuse, rape, murder, ... The consequences may or may not be equivalent. But the moral level is the same.

Why would it be undesirable? This country has benefited tremendously from poor people who come from other nations and work hard to make a better life for themselves and their children. Poor immigrants benefit this country. They contribute much more than racists and white supremacists. So if you are looking for something "desirable", then you should be seeking how to extradite racists. The level of criminality amd vagrancy is much much higher among racists than among poor immigrants.
