They are controlled by corrupt to the core Dem Party politicians, and so any plans that they do have . . . are meaningless.

I had no reason to regurgitate a specific date to date period of hurricane season since anyone can google it. Hurricanes come up here at times and many of our family, friends , and neighbors are snowbirds so we are very cognizant of hurricane season. Thank God some of our family members finally sold their places down there. The stress was too much.
One family member waterfront property in FL and up here. Stress in both places.

Hope they fixed that grid with all those billions. For some reason I feel the crooked government pocketed a lot of it.

I read that their grid still in doubt. And a third of residences are still covered in blue tarps. I hope the best for them and that they weather this storm in spite of the politics that came into play after Maria beat them to pieces. It has been said that ironically one is most in need of help when one is least deserving of help.

Oh great, the storm has not even hit yet and we cant wait to score cheap ass, political potshots. People who actually live in hurricane zones are more concerned with preparing instead of more "Orange Man Bad" garbage.

I have a condo in PR. The blue tarps aren't really blue anymore....they are faded and coming apart from UV damage. The funny part about the tarps is that just about any building standing in PR has a solid concrete roof. The tarps really don't do much....they are a half-assed fix for leaks that need to be repaired (easily) with sealant. That's your tax dollars down the drain on a socialist shithole.

But the locals spend their time and energy with their hands stuck out, looking for freebies. Even after over a year since Maria, there are still trees and debris the locals won't even get off their asses and pick up. Traffic lights? Haha, who needs them...even almost 2 years later.

The grid was fixed by a bunch of contractors from Texas. Back in 2018, there were hundreds of work trucks with Texas license plates roaming around fixing all the utilities.

But when I say fixed, that has nothing to do with reliability. Back to normal means back to bi-weekly random power outages.

PR is a case study on Democratic Socialism. Gated communities and ghettos.

Ughh...tarps. Mine only lasted about 5 months before tearing up. Two leaks in my roof so we Kool sealed a largish area over both suspect spots, STILL leaks. I put flagstones on our tarp as nailing more holes in the roof, just seemed like a bad idea. Those tarps shred into millions of strips.

What did he say here that wasn't true? Geez...he used a term of art..."when will it all end?"

Sounds like a slow news day for the TDS crew

Well, the good news from recent polls is that it likely all ends in January 2021...

Sounds like the storm has modified course to be on a direct path to PR.... Good luck guys!

It was a reasonably slow news day until the Deutsche Bank news in the evening... Working on that thread now... Stop on in for some spirited discussion about Trump taxes and loan applications...

If this storm does any damage to Southern Florida, I suspect the majority of Americans hope it's worst at Mar A Lago...

Maybe God indicating Trump is NOT the chosen one??

I would never ever wish for a storm like this to do damage. Having been through a hurricane last year, it is something I would not wish on ANYONE.

Wow...I dare say the majority of Americans don’t wish hurricane damage on anyone. Only really sick demented people would wish storm damage on a community

Then you have a low opinion of "the majority of Americans".

You also do realize, Trump isn't going to be riding out the hurricane at Mar-a-Lago? And he'll just pay people to restore any damage? And there are other people at/near Mar-a-Lago who would also be effected? But go ahead and let your leftie hate flag fly. Y'all do have a hard time hiding your true colors, don't you.

Of course he won't be there... there's the possibility of physical danger... He'd send Barron and Melania down first...
